About Me

I'm not looking to jump into something serious, but I suppose I'd deal with it if it's right and it ends up happening that way haha. I'm keeping myself quite busy with my new job and my social life, but I feel the need to have somebody to be closer to, and feel an attraction with, and of course act on it.I'm not your average girl. I'm not your average anything, really. ;) Normal is boring. I'm not a total weirdo or anything like that, but sometimes you need to let yourself have silly, strange thoughts, you know? Life is too short to be serious all the time, or be full of drama.I'm fairly intelligent. My thoughts and feelings are deep and complex. But at the same time, I'm pretty laid back and am pretty much just here for a good time, wherever I am. I'm at a point in my life where I've realized that being happy in the moment really is as important as having plans for future happiness, despite what all the adults told us when we were younger. I try to spend as much of my time as possible out with friends when I'm not working. I started playing poker for the people, and now I play poker because the competitor in me just wants to win everything all the time. I've finally signed up for the course to get my firearms license so I can go shoot inanimate things. I have a hard time getting alcohol to take effect, but I still try sometimes. Most of the time, I'd rather smoke a joint and go for a walk or sit somewhere with a view or people watch. I like pretty things, and showing people the pretty things I see, so I have a few cameras. Except that they're all bigger than my cell phone, and most days I tell myself it's good enough and neglect the real camera.My job has me sitting all day looking at other people's photos and keeping the printers going. It's like getting to travel. It's cheaper, and you see all the stuff, but you don't actually get to do any of it, so it's only exciting until you realize you'd rather actually be there yourself. I'm the kind of person that wants to do everything and see everything, except for the boring things and the things that will probably kill me or seriously maim and injure me.I guess what I'm looking for right now is somebody to talk to, and spend some time and hang out with who can help keep me amused and entertained, and hopefully find a connection mentally and physically.Bonus Fun Facts:- I once spent about 8 hours on the continent of Africa. It ended in us being chased back to our van by a large group of 8 year old boys wagging their penises at us and throwing rocks because we didn't give them money.- I've held hands in the back of a police car.- Once I lived in a 4 bedroom house with 12 people. 15 if you count the hippies sleeping in the living room in exchange for some acid, which a roommate was glad to take as payment.- I have the uncanny ability to randomly think about somebody I haven't heard from in years and am unlikely to ever hear from again, and then run into them a few days later.- If you ever play me at Tic Tac Toe, you'll probably lose.- I'm just as good at the arts as I am at the sciences.- I have enough skills and knowledge to survive in the wilderness should I ever have to, and I build a pretty mean shelter out of things found on the forest floor. Coffee or drinks. Cliche, but easy.Maybe a good long walk and/or drive. I know of a lot of cool little secret places and views around town. I'll show you mine if you show me yours. If you're into photography, we can take our cameras out somewhere.Maybe we can take our dogs to the dog park or something, though mine pretty much just watches the other dogs play.If there's a restaurant you want to try, I haven't had a good dinner buddy in a while. So if you're in the same boat, or you just wanna go again, I'm game.I have an Entertainment book with all of its coupons still in it, so there's a ton of 2 for 1 date stuff in there to choose from. Bowling, mini-golf, museums, food. I'm sure we can put some of them to good use before they expire ;)

    This is the part of this process that we all hate, talking about ourselves. I could pour on with the cliche nice things about myself, but then I'll feel like I'm writing a resume, and I'm not...or am I? I'm a secondary teacher, so I spend a lot of time working with teenagers. Which really results in some of the funniest stories you will ever hear. Sadly most of my time right now is spent on lesson plans and marking. Sounds boring, doesn't it?Things I like... hmm.. I love theatre. I just finished directing my fourth production with students. I love every minute of it. I like reading, and will read just about anything when I have time, which sadly right now is limited to the 15 minutes before bed. I enjoy music, every kind and love finding new hidden gems and being introduced to bands I would have never found on my own.My friends and family are everything to me. My life particularly revolves around my youngest sister and my dogs. They have me wrapped around their little fingers/paws and what's worse is that they know it. But yeah, I'll do just about anything for my close friends and my family.I think that's about it for now. I'm just looking for some fun new people to hang out with, in hopes of curbing the madness that is my life. Doing something fun, something out of the ordinary. Drinks are good for a first meeting, but a first date should be something fun with many opportunities to laugh.
