Hi! Let me tell you a little about myself.I enjoy live music. I like jazz (especially tenor sax, especially bebop -- I've never heard anything John Coltrane did that I didn't like), rock, blues, some classical music. I recently heard a live jazz violin for the first time, and it was great! I like bluegrass, but otherwise can't tolerate most country music.I enjoy movies, comedy, theater and festivals when they aren't too crowded.I like wine tastings, ethnic food, and fine dining. When I dine out, I enjoy finding a dish I've never had. I tend to eat healthfully, for the most part, but I'm not a purist. I've been a vegetarian in the past, and I can still enjoy vegetarian food, but these days I'm fairly carnivorous.I drink wine and beer socially.I like to travel when I can, but most of my recent travel has been for business.I'm not a sports fanatic, but I like going to an occasional game. I do like to watch soccer and loosely follow the US National Team. I played soccer (badly) and officiated it (reasonably well) and my son coaches soccer. I like to stay active -- I work out 5 days a week, running and lifting weights. I like to bicycle, though I haven't done it in quite a while. I like hiking and any activity that involves walking outside. Spiritually, I'm drawn to Zen Buddhism, and I meditate.I like conversation about ideas. I enjoy discussing politics, history, science, human nature, spirituality.Right now I want to date and have some fun. In the long run, I am looking for a real, long-term relationship based on attraction, communication and the enjoyment of the interplay of our personalities. If we've never met in person, I'd like to meet informally for a cup of coffee, tea, or something stronger and talk.If we want to go on a real date after that, I think dinner at a nice restaurant with a quiet atmosphere would be the best next step. If that goes well, we can discuss something more interesting for the next date.

    Well, people always tell me that I'm funny and cute. OK, not always - I heard that a couple of times. Actually, it was my mom. At least I THINK she said I'm funny and cute. You know, it might have been "Bunnies are cute". Hmmm. You know, people always tell me that bunnies are cute. I hate trying to put myself in a nutshell, especially since it hurts my back: I'm book smart and street smart, (well, Sesame Street smart), yet despite my intelligence I giggle when they call O***in bingo, I'm open-minded and nonjudgmental. I get irritating things in my eyes during sad movies, whatever!, I'm more interested in being genuine and sincere than cool,I'm perceptive, well-intentioned, with heart on my sleeve, sometimes impatient, argumentative, or stubborn, but I am trying to evolve (I MIGHT ask directions if I’m lost), I'm intuitive, quirky, neurotic, bludonic, repetitive, spontaneous, musical, friendly, repetitive, not funny, overly analytical, non-judgmental, self-aware, passionate, playful (bludonic isn't a word), interchangeably self-deprecating and**** (so it evens out, right?), entirely misunderstood, good at reverse psychology (or AM i?), kinda indecisive (well, not really, sorta), and very unpredicta(BOO!). In the right light, at certain angles, at a distance, with the right amount of sedatives, I'm not monumentally ugly. Best (or worst) of all, I am genuine. I am myself. I'm pretty good at it. Oh, and I don't want to brag, but I have a car. Woot woo! Oh, and I do own my own home.
