About Me

I've got a great sense of humor and love to make people laugh. I have a 9 year old son, he keeps me pretty busy. I'm a server at a local restaurant and substitute teach occasionally. I have my BA in Elementary Education from CMU. I love the outdoors and anything you can do in it; camping, hiking, kayaking, golfing,gardening etc.I'm looking for a guy with a great sense of humor. I'm a country girl and would like to find a smart, funny country boy with a good heart. I'm not the kind of girl that likes to be joined at the hip with someone. I'm looking for secure and confident. Respect, honesty and trust are the foundation of a good relationship. Compassion, loyalty and integrity are the foundation of a great person.(I made that up). I'm very confident and independant. I want a partner, not a parent. I want to laugh, not cry. I want to love, not survive.I'm lookin' for the guy that will kill spiders and fix things (even though I'm capable of doing so myself)! I love to cook; so you should occasionally like to eat. I love a good bon-fire with friends, movie nights, throwing dinner parties... the list goes on. I like most genres of music; I don't find myself listening to rap, R&B or classical too often. I mostly listen to country (you can take the girl out of the country....)I'm NOT looking for a pretty boy. I'm also not looking to jump right into a relationship. It takes time to build a lasting connection. You can love anyone for about 6 months, then the "new and exciting" wears off and you're stuck in a predicament... Life's about the ride, not the destination. Enjoy it!My son is 9 years old,he loves to dance and has a very "unique" style (prob gets it from me)! He was born with Down syndrome but he doesn't let it slow him down. If you're unfamiliar with what that is, think Corky from "Life Goes On". There's no such thing as a typical special needs kid and I understand that this may be an area of concern for you because it would definitely be one for me. :)Bottom line is, I can do it alone; I just don't want to. I want a hand to hold, someone to rock with on the front porch later in life and someone to laugh with. I'm a very balanced person. I find humor in everything that tries to get me down and always have a smile on my face. I love to laugh, especially when it's at myself! I know what you're thinking... what's wrong with this girl? Nobody's that perfect... lol. Truth is, I'm a huge procrastinator, always wait till the last minute then bury myself. I know myself and know that I work best under pressure. I'm not a very organized person (very right-brained). I love to cook, but don't enjoy the cleaning (I do it, but I'm not obsessive compulsive about having everything in it's place). I love shoes and will never stop loving them. I'm not into watching sports on T.V. but enjoy watching them live... occasionally. I figure boys need time together, so it kind of works out. I'm very easy-going, sometimes to a point of annoyance. If you're a button-pusher I'm not for you, I don't fall into the trap. I have a horrible memory, unless It has to do with useless information. I rely on humor to get through hard times and also have a tendancy to use it to avoid showing my emotions. Wow, this "what's wrong with me" list is longer than I thought it would be! I feel honesty is important and honestly, if you can't deal with any of these things, I'd rather know now!If you have any questions ask, I know myself very well!* In addition, since I don't plan on having more children, I see myself with someone that already has their own. And, I'm an atheist; in case non-religious didn't suggest that already... K, done now :) Something fun where we can get to know one another. Not a movie, it's awkward sitting next to someone you don't know and not being able to talk. Kayaking would be fun or golf if you aren't a high pressure golfer.

    I love to be outdoors even if its just to do yard work. I am interested in trying new things and learning new things. I do enjoy going out for some drinks every now and then but not every single weekend. I am kind of an independent person but am willing to let some of my independence go. I have been independent and doing everything on my own for 3 years now so letting some of that independence go will take some time. My number 1 music choice is country music and I love to country line dance but I also listen to a wide variety of music (except rap). I do love to travel and take vacations at least once a year. If theres anything else you want to know you will just have to ask. My idea of a first date is pretty old fashioned and typical. I'm pretty keen on the idea of having dinner somewhere nice. This gives you the opputunity to talk and get to know one another but if either party is not "feeling" it then its easier to call it a night. I think the more extravagant date ideas should be kept to date 2 or more.
