Hi, I´ I grew up in WI, moved to Spain when I was 19 to go on a year-long study abroad program, fell in love with it, and ended up staying there for 13 years.) My friends often referred to us as "The Cleavers." My parents gave me a childhood that most kids could only dream of. Their weekends were spent cheering me on at my sporting events-- they never missed a game/meet. When I had a weekend off, they would find other ways to have some quality time together. (art and historical museums, picnics, long hikes in the woods, gardening, BBQs...) -My brother, who is two years older, is still my idol and best friend. :-) Looking back, I am sooo thankful they made sitting down at the table as a family, for breakfast and dinner, such a priority. That is where a family becomes "a family." -I think honesty is the most important part of a relationship, and if not THE most important, at least it's at the top of the list. I was married to a spaniard for 7 years. Unfortunately, he had personal problems that he could not overcome, even with my loving support. My situation was unique, and I was forced to move on. It wasn't an easy thing to do, since I am a firm believer that marriage is a lifetime commitment. I put single down in my profile so I could be included in more searches. I'm in the field of cardiology by trade but I'm working on opening a non-profit charity.I like volunteering for a number of reasons. I get to chose what I want to do and who I help on a daily basis. Unlike work where you have a schedule, if I don't feel like volunteering that day, I don't have to. The biggest reason voluteering is great is because every person and every animal I help truly needs me for their well-being, in one way or another. I also feel good while doing it. Everyone should at least try it if they are able.I have a strong love for all animals. I'm not an activist but I strongly believe in animals rights and giving them a voice in whatever way possible. Still waiting for that president who will step up and make this a huge priority.I like to travel and see new places. Not necessarily swanky places, just anywhere and everywhere I have never been and also to return to places that I love.I like to gamble but I don't have a problem. It's relaxing to me. I can zone out from the rest of the world for a short time and I rarely lose so I usually make a little spending money in the process.I took Tae Kwon Do and guitar lessons growing up.I'm interested in the medical field and am constantly trying to learn new things in that field. I find myself getting lost in research and I wouldn't minding be a med student for life. I should have went into the field of genetic research or something along those lines. I don't think anyone likes a date where they barely know their date and their date invites a handful of his/her friends that you also don't know. A movie is probably not a great idea because how do you get to know anything about someone if you can't even talk with them?Stuff I should just point out: Just so we are not wasting our time. It's probably best not to contact me (because it most likely wouldn't work out since there would be no chemistry)... if:-yourself or others consider you a hillbilly -your profile pic is of you shirtless in a mirror -One of the things on your list of hobbies says "drinking beer".-you're immature, a party boy, uneducated, cheesy, insincere, disrespectful, rude, you have a frat-boy mentality or are unattractive. (Looks are important or there won't be any chemistry)-You hang out at bars and clubs all the time. If you have all that extra free time & can't find anything better to do with it than that, I'm not sure we have alot in common. What I am looking for is:As far as looks, I tend to like the "metro-sexual" pretty boy type.-A man with some sort of life plan-A smart man. It would be nice to have intellectual conversations with a guy once in a while. (I hope I spelled intellectual correctly)!!-A guy who is courteous, nice, true to his word, helpful, genuine, caring, compassionate & funny.(I'm the type of girl who opens doors for the elderly & carries their groceries to their car or will be late for work because I'm helping ducks cross a road safely.) I once pulled onto the side of the road to help a large snake get across a road without getting run over & snakes give me the creeps. I'm looking for a guy with similar qualities.None of this was written to be mean because I'm not perfect, but I'd rather spend my time looking at an inbox with realistic matches for me. My life is so busy that what ends up happening is I see an inbox full of men that I know wouldn't be good matches so I don't bother to open any.
