About Me

I am 35 and back on the dating scene again after a short hiatus. I opened my own small dog grooming business a few months ago and keep busy with that. I am confident in myself and in life, and I am happy where I am. I'm not a headcase or a game player, I really don't have time for that. Although all this sounds very serious and down to business, that's not all of who I am. I am looking for a serious relationship, but not in the intense serious kind of way. I'm an independant kind of girl, and am not looking to be suffocated by someone. I am looking for a man to compliment my life, to improve it, not be it. I am looking for a best friend who I can trust with my heart, even if I don't see him everyday. But at the same time, I don't want anything "casual". I am looking for someone to teach me new things, and I can teach you new things. We can have adventures and awesome experiences together. And we can do those things apart of course, but always trusting and knowing that we will be regrouping and reconnecting soon. My hobbies are anything really. I love to keep busy, and would love someone to help keep me busy. I am into river kayaking, and am trying hard to improve at that right now. I have been experimenting a bit with dragon boating for a short time. I enjoy indoor rock climbing (but with no partner I haven't done it in a while), and I'm not adverse to learning outdoor. Along with sporty stuff, I also need my down time. I love to read, and do anything crafty or creative. I've just started taking guitar lessons as well (and wow, am I bad at it). I do drink socially, and don't mind if you do as well, but I'm not interested in someone who is a daily drinker. I have been vegetarian for almost 10 years and eat vegan at home (but you can eat whatever you want). I don't smoke and can't date a smoker. I don't do any drugs, well, mushrooms once in a blue moon :) But I need to be really comfortable with someone before I'll go there. My life goal is just to enjoy it! I work a lot right now, but am hoping that it pays off in the long run. Even though I love my job, it is still a job, and I love time off and doing things more. And I guess that is my goal. To have my business running successfully enough that I don't have to be there all time! I would rather be out enjoying life and laughing with someone beside me :)I am looking for a man who is confident and secure. He needs to be more on the assertive side and not be shy. Physical attraction is very important to me, so I'm just going to list a few of the things that are deal breakers for me... You have to be at least a few inches taller than me, you need to be at least slightly athletic, you need to not shave your chest (or at least be willing to grow it back), and no smokers!!!!! A first date doesn't need to be craziness! I think something where conversation is encouraged, and getting to know one another. I think a first date is enough of a new experience that you don't need to add more to it. Just coffee, maybe some drinks, and conversation is all I require.

    - moved here 2 years ago for school. I'm a nursing student and school has taken up the vast majority of my life and as a result I don't have much of one.     I am a kind and generous person. I have a small circles of friends that I love spending time with. I really enjoy a good conversation. I fairly practical and organized. I'm loyal and thoughtful. Hiking, long bike rides, ferry to an island. I keep meaning to drive up to Lake Cowichan and go kayaking or paddle boarding - but these would be a lot more fun to do with someone special. Keeping active and moving is important to me, I walk to and from work each day and I think the fresh air is part of the reason why I have so far avoided catching the flu. I love to dance. I was so shy growing up that I didn't start taking ballet until I was in my early twenties. I've since stopped ballet, but I really enjoy the three modern dance classes I take each week. They say a smile can start on the face, that just by moving the muscles you can influence your emotions and will feel happier. I feel so much more alive and positive because I dance.I am a photographer. I love taking photos, especially of people. One day I'd like to start making money at it, but right now I still need a lot more practice. I do often go for walks without my camera, but I see shots everywhere. I sometimes like the free weekly iTunes or Starbucks song, which might mean I have hipster tastes in music. I am one of those people who when they hear a new song they like, listens to it on repeat over and over again until I know it by heart. And there's something special about listening to a voice quietly singing along to an acoustic guitar (like Ed Sheeran). One day I'd like to learn to play guitar. I'm hoping to date a man who is : taller than me, doesn't smoke, lives independently, has a job, is not a student, drives a vehicle (not only a motorcycle), is interesting to talk with, and is active. I want a boyfriend to spoil, to indulge in, to cuddle with, to watch sunsets with, and to let him know that he is loved. Someone to have some adventures with, to explore with. I dream about going to Tofino with a boyfriend. Seems like a really small thing, but I've never been and keep saving it as a special place to go with someone I love. Some friends think I'm nuts, but the ones who truly know me understand. First meeting will most likely be picking up a coffee and having a chat. If that goes well (you like me & I like you), then we could have a first date. Food and talking is always going to over well with me. Brunch or lunch or dinner and a stroll.
