I'm a positive, generally happy woman who enjoys a variety of pursuits and activities. I like water--swimming or boating when I get a chance and even just running outside in a rainstorm. I enjoy walking and paying attention to the sights, sounds and scents along the way. I always enjoy being in nature--walking or hiking--but walking in a city can energize me with the myriad movement of colour and sounds and smells. Both make me feel small yet blessed to be a part of this great creation.I am a reader and a learner. I read for self improvement, to increase my knowledge so I can be a better nurse, and of course, quite often, for the shear pleasure of a descriptive phrase or soul touching story.I love to cook, both inventing new dishes or preserving or improving on the classics. Would love to cook for someone. Or, even better, with someone.I like travelling and would like to do so much more exploring of this world. I would like to find a partner to enjoy it with me and with whom I can share the memories of our experiences years into the future. I like the arts and draw for a hobby (as you can see in my pics) I also love music and usually have some tunes playing in the background and often you will hear me singing as I go about my day. One of the things I'd like to do is learn how to play the guitar. I can play the trumpet but I don't do it too often since moving to the city as it's a bit loud. Besides, I can't sing with it. I also find that writing short stories and poems can focus me and relax me when something is on my mind.Really, all of the above things do that for me. You should enjoy many of the things I do, but also bring some new interests of your own to introduce me to. You should be a positive, well adjusted man; a hard worker but one who also values just having fun and enjoying himself. You should be curious and creative. And it should go without saying, you should be honest and truly interested in developing a deep and lasting relationship. Sometimes I see someone with a profile that really "sings" to me and I will send a message. I do so only if I truly feel there could be a connection. I figure you'll answer or not as your own sense of self dictates, but my thoughts on this are; what harm can come in sending a reply. I have lived in the country now for almost 20 years. My dad raised me to stand up for myself and be successful in life and being a woman doesn't stop me from doing the things in life I enjoy. I am independent and don't need someone to spend my life with, but would enjoy the company if I were to find someone who is compatible. I like who I am. I prefer someone who is down to earth, enjoys life and nature. I would love to have that someone be my best friend and accept me for who I am. I am writing this because I have found that some people try to change someone else to mold them to their liking. They would like you to get rid of all of your possessions, your pets and stay silent and let them control your life. The tell tale signs are they put you down, distance you from your loved ones, allege that they fall in love with you after a very short time, want to move in with you or get married after a short time, etc. and the list goes on. That's a bit scary and fits the profile of some issues that would raise red flags in the abuse or worse category. Even long distance relationships were listed as one of the problem areas for potential bad outcomes later. After listening to classes being taught that address these issues, I am going to take a break from this site and just take life one day at a time. I was not abused, but maybe just concerned with some odd behaviors in the past year. I do know some friends who successfully met their true love on a dating site, so it's not all bad, but I will work on my place and enjoy life with my friends and if that "special" someone happens to cross my path, that would be nice, but after too many red flags were raised and I chose to *** through the months this past year, I think taking a break is the best thing for me. I have also lost my two long time best friends this year within 2 months of each other. Life is short and I want to enjoy what I have left. I have been friends with guys most of my life and don't plan on changing that. I would also expect that if a man is friends with women in their lives, I will not change that either. Friends come in all kinds of ways, whether they are furry, human (either sex), or whatever.;I don't want a pickle, I just want to ride my motor-cicle". That's the truth and he once again had me laughing pretty hard. I do have pets and as long as they are alive, I plan on keeping them until their time is done. That to me is my invisible contract of love with them. They are great company and love unconditionally. I prefer that I see a picture of you before talking to you and that you be honest in who you say you are.
