I am truly a happy person and I would love to meet a special man with whom to share my joy. I am looking for a committed relationship, but hope to find someone who understands that relationships and the trust that goes with them take time. I'm willing to make the investment. I am looking for someone who gets that at this stage of life, wisdom accompanies recognition and acceptance of imperfection. Smiles come easy to me and a sense of humor in a man is essential. I have reached a point in my life where my time is free to dedicate on other pursuits after years as a dedicated, single mom. My daughter is fabulous and in college and I see her whenever I can. I create a busy life for myself, but don't be discouraged! I will reorganize to spend time with the right person. I am a passionate person, about many things. I hope you are too! I love to see live music (especially at outdoor venues), venture out to new places, take in festivals of any kind, stay in with friends by the pool or chiminea, travel to the lake, kayak, dance to country, blues, or just about anything. I work out regularly at a gym, sing in a choir, create unique, healthy and delicious meals and sample wine given any opportunity. I enjoy the outdoors, camping and even fishing. Quiet time by the lake or campfire is pure joy. Beaches are my preference. (Not much of a cold weather gal, but I have been known to read by the fire and work out in the gym to hang with the snow bunnies.) I'm a dog (not a cat) person (sorry I'm allergic). I like to travel but admittedly most of my travels have remained domestic. Hoping to expand those horizons.My friendships are extremely important to me and I am committed to maintaining them.I'm a hard worker and have a career that I thoroughly enjoy and in which I take pride. I like to believe that I make a difference in the world. My free time, however, is the most important time to me. I am an extrovert and people person and love engaging in conversation. I believe that communication is essential to any relationship.I am a strong person, probably a factor of many life challenges. I believe in doing the right thing. I am outspoken and direct.I do not debate politics, but if you can't tolerate a liberal mindset, we will not be a good match.I am looking for a true partner in a man, someone I know will have my back and I his. I have learned to open my heart and am excited about the prospect of someone truly touching it again. Mutual respect and support seem hard to come by at this stage of life and I wonder why that is. I'm willing to keep trying until I find him. Some of the qualities I look for in a man: funny, intelligent, self-confident, kind, appreciative and respectful of women. Above all, he should be a good communicator. I hope for a partner with whom the hours will race because there is so much to learn and understand about each other. I'm not one to pretend to please and do not misrepresent who I am inside and am looking for like qualities in a man. I like an accomplished man but run from arrogance and if you get that, bingo! I have a very down to earth nature.Finally, I am most attracted to men who lead a healthy lifestyle (meaning they take care of their minds and their bodies) and who are "gentlemen" in the old fashioned sense. In spite of my strength, I like to be treated like a "lady." Who doesn't like being made to feel special? Yes, I am a romantic. :-) I am also a realist.     I've been single for so long and have finally reached a point in my life where I'm only missing by better half. Kids are gone to college - actually I just got a raise ***graduated in May. Now I'd like to come home to a smile and a hug. I'd love someone who has a sense of humor and is quick to laugh. I do believe laughter is the best medicine. I also believe that communication is one of the keys to the beginning of a successful relationship and silence is a killer. Communication in every area is very important to me. I have a ton of sticktoittiveness and devote myself to my guy and am looking for the same in return. I'm a light drinker (most of the time) at this point, and want someone who has a good time without being trashed (although I've been known to forget how I got home a couple times). I'm faithful and a one guy gal and I'd like someone who cares enough that the thought of cheating isn't an option, because of us, not because of guilt from a previous relationship. I believe in treating someone the way you want to be treated. Have been divorced for 16 years......never thought I'd be single this long, but the right guy just hasn't knocked on my door yet. I'm not picky (or prickly), I just want a relationship that clicks and moves forward. Travel is probably my passion and I would like someone who genuinely shares that passion. In the winter.....hmm, that's a bit lazier although I do love to dance and music. Ask me about outdoor winter activities and I'll let you know. Although I don't say "no" to too many offers to do things (repeat from below).I have a great job with a law firm and am settled in my own home, but am looking forward to having two homes......maybe a snowbird at some point soon.I definitely want someone who can carry on an intelligent conversation and who can spell.......don't know why that is so important to me, but it is. Anyway, I'm just a normal woman with your average baggage (fits in a small carry-on in the bulkhead), who misses closeness, fun, adventure and a best friend (other than my 84 year old mom). Someone who thinks family is very important as I have hopes of being a part of yours and you being a part of mine at some point.......even just a bar-b-que would be nice. I'm pretty flexible and love an adventure and spontaneity. Seldom say "no" to new things and am definitely ready to meet the "real" guy (meet vs. all the electronic communications).     I listed all this in my interests but here it is again forgive my repeating. I enjoy working on my home redecorating or repair. I reclaim repair and re purpose old things like furniture and such. I enjoy being outside , walks in a park ,working in the yard. I love the water, in it ,on it or by it is the best place to be!. I am always ready for a road trip. I love going to new places, I enjoy historical places, state parks, Rt 66 ! I like flea markets and museums. And camping. I have a pop up camper sorry don't sleep on the ground any more! To be able to put a smile on the face of someone who's having a bad day is a good feeling. I am almost always smiling. Life truly is to short not to be enjoyed. I have been a widow for over seven years and I miss having someone to share life with.I am an affectionate person.We always hug hello and goodbye! I treat people as I want to be treated. I am trusting to a fault. And wont tell a lie to save me,or you for that matter. I am old fashion in some ways As the song says" I don't hook up" . I don't judge those who do but it's just not for me. I find confidence and manners very attractive. My glass is full of possibilities!Update I have just quit Smoking! I put occasionally just in case :) Depending on the weather, because if its nice outside a walk threw a park or by the water , stopping for coffee,soda or a drink would be nice. Or a museum or flea market, all the things there would give us plenty of conversation starter. Where ever, it needs to be some place we could talk, to get to know each other.
