I like drama on the big screen rather than in my life. I've always been a career woman; when at work I'm a driver, leading the charge & calling the shots, but after I leave the office, I prefer the man in my life to take the lead. On an average weekend, I balance the work week with getting out and about socially, maybe to have a drink & listen to a band or catch up with friends for dinner. The rest of the time, I spend at home playing around in my garden, getting a little sun, doing some yoga or dabbling with a little something creative. I've gotten to an awesome place in life so I'm grateful to be able to pay it forward -- I actively volunteer as a coach & mentor to people enrolled in transformational personal growth training. I own my house and a cat (or should I say she owns me :) I choose to have a simple easy life; my days of being a workaholic are over. I'm close to my family and have amazing friends; these relationships are important to me. I've been single for little while now and I would like to meet a man that is in a similar place in his life -- to be able to share, play and discover together new and familiar experiences. Yes, I do love to explore, be adverturous and I'm open to new things. And I'd rather be happy than right. The word I would use to describe a first meeting or date is CASUAL conversation. But true old-fashioned values, and an understanding of the dynamic between a man and a woman and the roles each has in a relationship, is the most appealing trait of all. I long to feel safe, secure, and someday, loved...to be held in the arms of a man I'm proud of (and who's proud of me), and who makes me want to be nowhere else in the world but there. He smiles to himself when we're apart, simply because I make him happy...I'm his special girl. He holds my vulnerability gently in his hands, and allows me to be myself...encourages it. I'm an affectionate gal too, once I'm comfortable. And I happen to think a great sense of humor is a darn sexy thing for a man to have. And just so you know...I'm aaaaaall woman. Boating, sailing, hopping onto a jet ski or motorcycle (back of the bike only, thankyouverymuch) are pastimes I can't get enough of. On a lazy day I'll sit outside and get engrossed in a book or my sketch pad. (Being tucked up beside you, as we laze in the sun, would be a perfect way to spend the day.) Skeet shooting, swimming and dancing are things I like to do. I'm an intermediate-level snow skier with a NAUI dive card (what a combo). And after a couple of glasses of "aiming fluid", I can shoot a pretty mean game of pool too. (Oh yeah...and I like to shop. I'm a girl. Its what we do.)Small casual gatherings are the BEST kind. (LOVE my shorts and flip flops) Old friends and new, a couple of "adult beverages" thrown in for good measure...life's "aaah" moments. Getting dressed up to go out is fun too. (Have waaay too many sexy heels to let 'em sit and collect dust.) I think hosting parties at home is even better than attending them elsewhere. (Okay, I just might root a little harder for the 'Noles...) Road trips...love 'em. Planned or spontaneous...with a destination in mind or just following the road ahead...doesn't matter. I've embraced a new way of looking at life, after starting fresh and shiny-new. Living IN the moment is the most important thing for me. Life doesn't start later, tomorrow, next week...its what we're doing RIGHT NOW...and I've been making the most of it. Something else you might want to know 'bout me (and I'm giving you fair warning), I enjoy being challenged, and I hope you do too...'cause I CAN be a handful. I'm willful and sassy, and playful and fun. I spend most of my days with a big ol' smile on my face, and I'll keep one on yours as long as we're open to each other. (But I'll bet you'll want to chase me around the kitchen island a time or two...its that dang sassy thing.)I have two GREAT kids. My daughter is 23, proudly married to a soldier, and gave birth to my very first grandchild in ***. (She's the one who convinced me to give this crazy site a try, by the way.) My son is 20, is also in the Army, and married his high school sweetheart earlier this year. (Hoo-ah! I'm a proud mama.)Oh, and one more thing, in case you're still interested: I was a commissioned officer in the US Army. (yes, really). That's it...that's me in a five minute read. Soooo...what are you waiting for? Something as simple as meeting for a drink and a chat to see if there is a spark between us would be an ideal first meeting. A nice relaxing spot, preferably outside (weather permitting) would suit me just fine. A game of pool or shooting darts would be fun too. No matter what...if its easy to converse, if we look directly into each other's eyes as we do, if a giggle or ten erupts during our exchange, I'd say yes to spending more time getting to know you better...if you agreed. (And if I flirt with you during our first meeting, trust me, you're golden.) Second date? ...bring a crash helmet...

I love relaxing time on the beach whether it's for a walk or a week! Spur of the moment weekend trips are so exciting! I enjoy movies, theater, wine tastings, coffee on the deck in the morning, fixing a nice meal at home or going out for a good meal. A nice dinner can be a mom & pop kind of place or very nice restaurant. I enjoy sports -- college basketball is my favorite, but I'm not a fanatic. Antiquing & I love sipping a glass of wine in front of a fire. I'd love to find someone who respects my honesty, integrity and loyalty and who will do the same for me. An ideal first date for me could be a cup of coffee or a glass of wine or maybe share a meal. We could do something more creative like the zoo or a museum.
