About Me

I've read some great profiles on here and I'm stealing the format of a good one. ME... I am very happy and content in my current life. I am blessed with 2 beautiful daughters, both happily married to great guys. This year they gave me the greatest gifts... a beautiful granddaughter and a handsome grandson. I know... I look waaaay too young to be a grandma...lol. I have a beautiful home that I share with my furry best friend. It used to be 2, but I recently lost one : (. I am so blessed to have a huge circle of friends, both male and female, that have and continue to be there for me in so many ways. I have a great job that I love but believe it's important to balance that with a very active social life. I love to travel and a good winter for me, includes 2 sunny destination getaways. Although I don't own a cottage, I'm very lucky to have so many friends with cottages and their invites allow me to enjoy many cottage getaways throughout the year. I maintain a healthy, active lifestyle and try eat healthy most of the time, although I admit that chocolate and red wine are a weakness. Really the only thing missing in my life is a great man to share it with. I once had an amazing, happy, wonderful marriage and I believe that if I can find the right man, I can once again, have it all.YOU... While I believe that it important that we have our own interests, I also believe that we must have similar values and priorities in life. You, like me, are content with your current life, because despite life's tough lessons you have chosen to make life good. It is a choice. You have your own group of friends (the real kind that are there for both good and bad times and come running when needed in those bad times, cause I believe that says so much about the person you are). You are financially secure and travel often, or would like to travel more, if only you had an awesome travel companion. : ) You work at being healthy, exercising and eating well, or wish you did and are willing to work towards it. Oh... and you MUST love dogs, cause I do live with my furry (non-shedding, hypoallergenic) best friend. You value honesty and believe it's easier to be yourself than try to be someone else to win affection. Although a long term relationship is your final goal, you are willing to take things slowly, starting off as friends, enjoying the "getting to know you" phase and allowing our relationship to grow into something that can stand the test of time. US.... we send a few *** both agree to meet sooner rather than later, because we believe that this is just a place to connect with other singles and what we are really hoping to find is that elusive and unexplainable chemistry. We meet for a drink because it helps us both to relax a little and we find our chemistry is amazing. The conversation is effortless and the laughter comes easy. We both feel like we can be totally ourselves and the time passes quickly. The evening ends with a hug and quick kiss because we don't want to rush this exciting "getting to know each other feeling" that we both feel has the potential to go somewhere really great. We both wait in anticipation of our next date and our first "real" kiss.     Hello, If it were my perfect world you and I would be sitting outside on the porch swing listening to the rain come down on the tin roof. This would of course be in the middle of my ***acres and my yellow lab would be sitting by my side. I’ve been here a little longer than you, because after a great home cooked dinner that I made just for you, you stayed inside and did the dishes and ironed my clothes for work the next day. Hey, it’s my perfect world. LOL. Unfortunately, it’s not a perfect world. I don’t live on ***acres and I don’t even have a dog. But I am a good cook and I have a very good imagination! I love to laugh till its hurts. I love the smell of babies, puppies, horses and fresh cut hay. I have a lot of interest but love outside activities most. I’m very active and I love to ride my horse, especially if trail riding in the mountains. I like to hike in the woods, walk in the park or just sit and relax on the "make believe" porch swing :) . I am an avid reader and have been known to check out as many as 18 books from the library at one time. I’m creative and artistic. I would love to take stained glass classes. My favorite beverage is sweet iced tea. I am just as comfortable in heels and a dress at a fine dining restaurant as I am in jeans and boots shucking the barn or riding on the back of your bike. I listen mostly to Country music but can listen to anything except rap and hard rock. But the thing I enjoy most is spending time with my family, especially my 2 grandchildren, ages 2 and 5 months. They are my rock. I am an honest, loving, caring woman who doesn't play games. I not dead set on finding my "one". I don't need anyone to complete me.....but it would be nice to have someoen to share my life with. If you can make me laugh, all the better. I would love to find someone who makes me laugh, and that I can't wait until the next time I see him. But that doesn't have to be the next day or even the day after that. I think there can be an *** but not *** I am not naive enough to think that we all don't have baggage or drama in our lives......and neither should you. My only "rule" to that is to keep it out of our relationship. In other words......don't blame me for the shortcomings of your ex.....I am not them....I am my own woman. So now for the things I don’t like: I hate to fold clothes and I hate my alarm clock in the mornings. I’m terrified of birds. Yes all birds, but the good news is that’s the most neurotic thing about me. I refuse to talk politics, and don't like picky eaters or mean people. I’m not a jealous person, and I could never be with anyone who is. If there isn’t trust there’s nothing. This is where I’ll be perfectly honest: I am not interested in dating outside my race; it’s just not in my comfort zone. If you don’t close your mouth when you chew food you just aren’t for me. If you are vegitarian or vegan it won't work because I love a big juicy steak. If you don't have your own car don't expect me to pick you up. Yes its happened :( . If you don't have a picture I will assume you are married or have something to hide so please don't contact me. After we have messaged a few times on this site, I think we should talk on the phone. You can tell so much more about a person if you actually talk. Then we meet for lunch or drinks. Something short in case we don't click. Also, if you promise to tell me that you just aren't in to me I will do the same.
