I could feel the heat raising, is it my time? No. The fire is dancing across the ceiling and rawring out the windows, is it my time? No. Give me the strength to finish the job, I think in my head as the man behind me tells me to look up. The fire was above and ready to flash over. I fight the force of the hose to turn and spray, the heats almost unbearable. My breathing increases. The smoke is so black. I hear someone out side say "Watch out, its gonna flash" Im told to back out. As I crawl backwards to the door, Im still facing the fire. It feels as if it was ***degrees. I hear the poping and crackling as the fire eats the the ceiling. Is it my time? No. I never got scared, I never backed down, I always knew you were there, so why should I care. Its not my time, so much left to do. I've got plans and Im no where near through. I stand on guard everyday, ready at moment to respond to anything. No matter what it is, A structure fire, Car wreck, or First responders call, no matter the time, Ill be there. My life is not through and Im making a difference in other lives by what I do daily. To protect my every neighbor and their property. To save and rescue any life no matter the age. Its not my time yet and Im still going strong. Nothing is getting in my way. I will never back down, I will not ever give less then 100% of myself in order to protect those in my comunnity. And if it is your will that I must walk through the the valley of darkness, I shall not fear. When my time comes, I already know that Ive made a difference and that the ones I love know that very much, I will be prepared to face my demons and set them free. Girl's choice
