This is sort of a necessary evil being on here trying to find someone I can TRULY trust with my heart - someone with a positive attitude who when they find everything they ever hoped and dreamed of will do everything under the sun to protect it nurture it and help it grow; someone who can accept that everyday is not going to be a walk in the park and that everything in life that’s worth while is also worth some work; someone who is available to hopefully develop a real committed relationship with not just get together every once in a while; someone who truly believes in committed relationships and wants one that will last a lifetime – not just till the next one! I'm looking for a special friend and so much more. I'm looking for someone who values intimacy, friendship and family. Of course physical chemistry and affection is very important too. I'm a divorced dad of 2 really great kids ***and 17. I'm an active parent with no time to be a serial dater and I'm certainly looking to avoid that type - and serial shoppers too. Life is too short and I don't want to waste any of mine or anyone else’s time. I think laughter is one of the best medicines for anything - except maybe gunshot wounds. I love to make others laugh and don't mind laughing at myself - I often do. I’m funny but don't always have to be. I'm considered kind, intelligent, and easy going by all who know me and I think I'm fairly intuitive. I’m empathetic and compassionate with a social conscious. I try to do the right thing and expect the same from others but have had my fair share of disappointments’ with that. I really enjoy long conversations about anything and everything and think I listen as well as I talk - for a guy anyway. I believe communication is the most important part in any healthy relationship. I enjoy the finer things in life but I'm not materialistic. I'm very passionate about things I believe in but at the same time am easy going. I'm complex but not complicated. I'm flexible and can compromise without feeling compromised but would much rather find synergy with a loved one then either having to compromise. I'm looking for a relationship that's simultaneously exciting and peaceful. For fun I enjoy hanging with my kids doing just about anything but as teen agers now that's getting more and more rare. In the winter we try to do at least one ski trip and in the summer, now that they are older, well I have a lot more time now for adult entertainment like really good conversation for starters; sushi and Lychie Martinis in the winter and barbecue and Mohitos in the summer - just lots of smiles.... I like gardening and swimming on hot summer days and massages in front of the fireplace with some good music, lots of candles and a glass of wine on cold snowy winter nights..... I get enough of watching sports with my kids but an occasional Knicks or Jets or Giants game is fun and I always enjoy a good thunderstorm! Long Island has so many great restaurants and a night in the city is fun too. A day trip out east or an overnight to a romantic B B., islands anywhere, Tuscany, Paris ..... can't wait - but have to find the partner in life who will make those trips everlasting memories otherwise its as much fun as going to movies by yourself on Valentines day ,,, I absolutely have and would devote enough time to make a relationship thrive and would hope to make my soul mate when/if I ever find her feel like one at all times. I’m looking for a great friendship first and foremost – filled with boundless romance and unconditional love - a partner to explore infinite possibilities.... I know this all sounds corny as hell - what can I say - I'm a happy ending movie kinda guy so if any of this resonates I'd love to hear from you...

HEY YOU! You're kissing the wrong frogs. I'm over here.> I enjoy playing sports like basketball, football, baseball, soccer, ultimate frisbee, volleyball (beach/court), softball and tennis but I'm not big on watching them. I also enjoy "bar" games: foosball, ping pong, pool (billiards), and card/board games although I've never enjoyed the bar scene. I'm competitive only to make a game more interesting but I'm not serious about it. I'm about the easiest going guy you're likely to meet around here.I got out of the Air Force after 10 years and didn't want to sit in front of a desk anymore so I decided to become an wireman. I'm usually working on commercial or industrial projects. Maybe when I'm 55 I'll go back to working in an office. For now I enjoy being outdoors.This summer my activities are MTB, Rock Climbing, Softball, Ultimate Frisbee, and Backpacking. Now that winter's coming I'm going to change this up a bit.I think it would be more fun to take on life with a partner; it should be like me and her against the world. I'm not counting on that right now but if something works out in the future then my life and her life would be that much better.I'm a little on the chivalries side whether it's opening doors for a lady or helping her on with her backpack.Love at first sight is great and a lot of fun but I think a lasting friendship leads to a happier future.I think it's romantic to cook a good meal along side of a partner and enjoy it together.I am a very honest person. I believe that if you can't keep from lying about something small while dating than it's going to be way more difficult to be honest when you are married. Will we have a good time? I will, the other half is up to you. Rock climbing, tennis, 5k or farther, kayaking, MTB, Disc Golf, pickup soccer, some random local event, etc if we decide to meet again. I'd rather take a girl on a hike but most women seem to be opposed to meeting a guy out in the wilderness for some reason. Occasionally one might come along who's comfortable with it and I've found hiking to be a great way to get to know someone.
