About Me
**Sep ***How is it possible to go away from this site and come back and see the exact same people? :) :) :) :) ** Okay, so I have taken out my little mini-novel; this is the "short" version of my profile LOL. :)When I first put my profile out here quite some time ago, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I wrote that I must be completely bananas and that I hoped that this place would be “a peeling” in one way or another. After a short while, I reached an epiphany. That is, maybe I shouldn’t be looking at what I can “take” from this place. Perhaps I should also be looking at what I can contribute. (Think JFK’s speech but apply it to cyberspace. ) Isn't that just totally bananas? So yes, I decided to make lemons out of lemonade. Where is that “lemon” icon???? I know some of you will think this is cheesy and maybe even ridiculous, but here are some of the things I have been doing lately:- answering every single *** me regardless of my “interest”- writing to people who seem down for the “soul” purpose of lifting them up- being a friend to those who request it and offering whatever wisdom I might have.Do I have tons of free time on my hands? Believe it or not, I don’t. I just believe that the way we behave in cyberspace should parallel the way we behave in the “real world.” Am I the only one out here who believes that "character" is really important in an individual? For what it's worth, here is some free advice that is hopefully worth at least a few cents more than what you paid for it! If you ladies find yourself attracted to a certain guy, I encourage you to guard your heart intitially and look as deeply as you can at that individual. When all the “props” are removed, what is left? Can you really trust that person? Will he really care about you in the good times and not so good times? Will he stick around in the long-run? Character, character, character. It's not what the man drives, but what drives the man. A few more details about me:My Objective for Being Out Here: Although it's nice to log in once in a while to a mailbox full of messages, that's not the reason I'm here. For me, it’s really not about filling up the boat with fish. It’s about making quality connections. Quality is better than quantity any day. And when I say quality, it doesn't mean that you have to be perfect. Nobody is. (Well, I'm just about there, LOL. ) In fact, from my point of view, it doesn't matter where you have been or what you have done, if you are in the process of constantly striving to become a better person, then I'm very impressed.Paying it Forward Online: The Golden Rule. Awesome, isn't it? I think it applies to online communication as well as face to face communication. I would encourage everyone to behave as if the person who wrote to you were sitting right next to you. Maybe that person is not your type. In fact, odds are, that person is not your type. He or she could be too heavy, too thin, too tall, too short, too far away, too close, too old, too young, too, too, too something. And that's okay. But if our kind words and/or behavior online can lift up someone's day, why not pay it forward? Just my 2 cents worth. Philippians 2:3: "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves."Honesty: I will always be honest with you, even with the minor issues. Isn't it better to go through life with the truth, even if it sometimes stings? On Being Myself: I agree with what I once heard someone say, "I would rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I am not."Age: I notice that this site allows you to exclude people from writing to you for certain reasons. One of these is age. All are free to contact me. Marital Status: I have never been married and have no children. Anything wrong with me? Yes, actually I look like a monkey and am addicted to organic bananas. Well, that's only partly true. ** BTW My preference is someone who has never been married before, and who has no children. There are of course, exceptions. :) **Religion: I am a Christian and try to live my life by Christian principles. I am a work in progress. I will always be a work in progress! Hopefully, each day, I can improve my life in some way, and in some way make the world a better place. I don't consider myself to be "religious" if that makes any sense.Health: I am somewhere around the 5'8" area and around average weight. I am also a vegetarian - almost vegan. It is important to me to try to live a healthy lifestyle because I believe that our physical, psychological, and emotional components are very much interconnected. Also, I am a vegetarian for more than health reasons. There is enough cruelty in the world without me adding to it. Of course, this does not mean that you have to be a veggie too. . . .;I never let my schooling interfere with my education." :) I will just say I have a lot of potential "interference." :) However, I realize that there are those with very little education who are "smarter" and wiser than even the most highly educated. I believe that our education never ends. We are all fish in the "school" of life. My Photos: Since this site seems to be sea- :)Answering *** know it sometimes takes courage for people to send *** here. In the past, I have answered all of my *** now, I will do the best the I can. :)A Couple of Questions for You: 1) How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?2) What is one thing you've done in your life that you are really proud of?"Describe what would you do for a first date. (optional) "I'm not sure what I would do. It's really not about the "doing" or about the "location" but about the person. With the right person, I could have a picnic next to a dumpster.
