About Me

Quite simply, it would be great to meet someone and share a strong connection, basic values and some common interests. Differences can also be good. While I certainly have a view towards the long-term, I don't take it as a given. Everything starts with a meeting and we see where it goes from there.A laundry list of specific characteristics seems....pointless. Aren’t we happy to discard that ‘list’ if we find that spark/chemistry….or conversely, add to the list to rationalize why the spark doesn’t occur? That said, there are some qualities I hope for in a partner that would make for a better fit:Good communication skills:….maybe that sounds ‘rich’ coming from a man... being open, truthful, fair, while remaining respectful.Active and Healthy lifestyle: … not training for the Olympics here, I’ve found the pleasure of physically activity plus the positive by-products …and being able to share this within a relationship would be good (an interest in long cycling trips would be great!).Love of humour:…. laughing and finding / sharing humour through most situations ….whether quirky, irreverent, off-the-wall, shocking…its all good!… makes a huge difference!Chemistry: nothing to explainA little about….You: intelligent, urbane, classic but with edge, sophisticated and elegant but down-to-earth. You are loyal, passionate, and are good to peopleMe: I love to laugh...try not to take anything too-too seriously. I value honest and open dialogue even when it's more than a tad uncomfortable....or painful. I am interested in the exchange of ideas and thought more than 'surface' (though that has its moments). My interests are various and I'm open to being exposed to new ones... design, the arts, and spirituality are a few. I don't aspire to amass great numbers of friends but highly value and cultivate lasting bonds with the few I do have. Music, for me, spans many genres: jazz, rock, folk, dance. I’m a people watcher...I’m friendly, positive, optimistic (except when I'm not). I'm as comfortable in jeans and t-shirt as a little black dress (joke!!...I know there are other websites for that...just wanted to see if you were paying attention) .Activities: bicycling through the neighborhoods of TO or further afield bike paths, home renovations/improvements/experiments, CBC Radio as my frequent companion as are various podcasts, working out at the Y , spending time with friends..often collecting for brunch... on a patio preferably.Goals: to live a fulfilling and meaningful life, to be aware, engaged, and if possible, find my partner (if she exists)My Career: can be stressful (and whose isn't?) but rewarding. It's important to me to be making a positive and lasting contribution...and its important to me to engage in the world through creativity. Initially I did this to avoid commuting (it kills!). I was 4 and she was only 3. She had pigtails and freckles and I had hair at the time. Our mothers watched from the park bench. We played and played....but ultimately she was destined for the merry-go-round and I for the swings. I think of her from time to time...and wonder if she ever thinks of me :(
