About Me

Ah yes plenty of space to describe a lifetime but I don't feel like writing a book here though I am writing a book on personal freedom and technology. It's a challenging topic! And that's just it - nothing worthwhile is easy including the search for the right person to spend one's life with. But the headline gives a hint that I'm looking for something more than a quick hookup. Nothing against those if safely done but you tend not to see the person again sometimes so developing something more durable is worthwhile. There's a whole lifetime to tell about I suppose but not much space to do it so I will leave that up for a private chat. How's that for a copout...lol. But I have been looking on these personals sites for quite some time and am truly amazed how few quality guys there are out there who are ready for something more. Maybe everyone has a lot of baggage by the time they get a bit older who knows? The goal is to meet in person of course. As for me, I enjoy travel, outdoors, sports (hockey, skiing, and summer activities like rafting as well), great restaurants (All kinds especially Indian and Malaysian). As I mentioned, I am writing a book so do enjoy creativity too and attending art openings and so on.Will get some more photos on here too shortly so bear with me I know this is SO important!I tend to take joy in the moment, in seeing the beauty of it whether a person or in nature. Sure, there is a lot of bad out there but the way to handle it is to see it for what it is and give it minimal importance thought not *** Life is about variety and the saving moment is the next moment....it's a philospy of life but a practical one. I like a variety of foods in particular Indian and East Asian. Also enjoy some of the old movies (noir in particular) and in moder movies adventure and some sci-fi.Well-travelled but looking to go to some south american or south asian countries in my next trip.NOTE: Please POST a picture of yourself here showing your face. .Equally important have a bit of a write-up on yourself and what you are looking for in a guy and something about yourself. Thanks. First date would wither be at a coffee shop or over lunch/dinner. That's the best way to get to know someone face to face. I go by first date impressions as far as seeing if there is anything worth pursuing. I won't lead anyone on if I don't feel there is anything to build on. It sounds a little judgemental to do this on the first date but that's experience talking and I have been burned by letting hope guide things where there was nothing to begin with. That's just being honest even if it bothers the other guy to tell him where I stand. Because if you are there in person for a few hours you learn more than you do on line.

Man. 51 years old. Zodiac sign: Taurus.

Looking for: man. In age: 48-58

I am a professional who works for an agency and have my own practice as well. I am well educated. I seek a man who is stable emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. I am looking for a relationship oriented balanced man who isn't looking to glue himself to my hip. I like a man who is caring, monogamous, can communicate well, and who is comfortable in his own skin but not in a self centered way. I love many things and I have many interests, just ask. I like to keep the first date simple....just coffee or tea. I don't like bars so that is out. A walk would be nice or a little hiking trip near by.

Man. 52 years old. Zodiac sign: Gemini.

Looking for: man. In age: 49-59

I am a casual and simple chubby guy still looking for a best friend and more. I am intelligent, honest, sensitive, and even a bit eccentric. I am very shy and dislike the typical gay scenes. I am much more comfortable in small, intimate groups for conversations or even board/party games. I like comedy, sci-fi/fantasy (Star Trek, Star Wars, LOTR, ...), history, technology, science, trains, and swimming, fantasy. I enjoy dining out or just quiet cuddling in front of a movie or fireplace. I have a good sense of humor. If you would like to share these things and more, and get to know the real me, be sure to say "Hi." An activity where we could talk and get to know each other, such as a dinner in a comfortable restaurant or perhaps a park somewhere.

Man. 55 years old. Zodiac sign: Taurus.

Looking for: man. In age: 52-62

Last November I was surprised by Corporate Restructuring and have since found new employment with a client of my former employer. I’m an optimist so I wasn’t worried. Only spent 3 months without gainful employment. The RI Dept. of Unemployment is a boondoggle to say the least. Now, I work happily from home. I lost my 2 oldest dogs, 15 and 10.5, in July. It’s not been a great year for that sort of thing. BUT, I have 2 pups, 2 and 1, who keep me going all the time. They LOVE that I work at home. Yogi and Bear are wonderful company. Not into clubs and "the scene"! I prefer places where I can hear the conversation and not have to shout back. I'm concentrating on the real, the now, the positive!I am gregarious and open to new experiences. Love meeting new interesting people. Dining in or out is good; I love to cook, bake, and experiment. I enjoy making my own bread. I really enjoy finding a great bottle of wine at a ridiculously low price. I'm successful quite often!I would like to meet someone who has a strong sense of friendship and family. I have a varied collection of friends; some on-going for ***years. Loyalty and trust are the keys to a great relationship. I'm honest, love to laugh even at stupid things, caring, passionate about my friends and living to enjoy life. I prefer to be happy and fun. Others like that about me!I love to travel and the UK is a frequent destination. It's a brain and dexterity challenge.I enjoy being outdoors; the beach, sailing when a boat is available (rather fair weather however), body boarding, gardening, picnic on a hike.Indoor activities - Love Scrabble, just sitting around and talking, planning a trip! There are other fun things to do but we can discuss those at a later time. First date - easy going, low pressure. Coffee, lunch, walk, maybe dinner and drinks. Here's a challenge... We meet for dinner at a BYOB and each bring a bottle of wine that costs under $7; we taste and see who got the best bargain and wine. Location to be determined!OR... If you own a dog, let's meet in a dog park! We can share a mutt-ual experience and have something wonderful to share.
