I'm a open minded, smart guy with a big heart and lots to share looking for a lover, best friend and partner. I'm moral but not a prude, slow to judge because life has thrown me some things I never expected. I like to work hard, but laugh and have fun too. I love old movies, good music, especially from the 60's, 70's and of course later too... my son lives in NYC and enjoy visiting there now! ... and I love the American West... I enjoy the beach, but more often the mountains... I don't like really hot weather.I enjoy some time alone occasionally. But I am mostly a "my girl" kind of guy. In other words, *** being out with the boys or a male friend, I generally prefer being with my girl if she is free. And while I am not clingy in the least, I do prefer to make most of my plans revolve around she or maybe, YOU and I.As an only child, my Mom taught me to never be selfish and I have a soft spot for the underdogs of this world. I was a very good Dad and was "there" for almost everything important as they grew up. So, I know the value of family relationships and will respect your needs with your family and would like to get involved with a great family where I can fit in. l If you have younger children, that is o.k. too. If they can accept me, I will naturally grow to love them too. I have taught both young married couples and teenagers and they would tell you I can be really fun and often irreverent.... so if you are looking for "boring" or "no personality", pass me by. I have a type A personality and never meet a stranger, but don't crave the attention of most other people or get my kicks out of being president of this, or having my pic in the paper for that.... Does this make sense?By the way, while still a believing Christian, I have done everything you can do in church ten times over and I am glad to let others do most of those things now. I will confess I am skeptical about some things the church has become... so seemingly entertainment oriented at many churches. But I still respect Christians that are steady, dependable folks that don't just tell they are praying for someone, but get off their butts and give or visit or risk involvement with people who are hurting. I try to be that kind of guy myself. But I still believe prayer matters too.Also, if you are someone that holds grudges or can't get over some past hurt or someone that just "writes off" someone because they have offended you at some time... again pass me by. I have to be hit over the head with a "2 by 4" before I get that you are really angry with me. And I am quick to forgive and try to never hold grudges. And loyalty is HUGE for me. I think people are more important than things and that none of us can have too many friends... and that friends are too valuable to be casually tossed aside.. Also, I will always be quick to tell you I am sorry if I know I have stepped "on your toes" in some way. Yes life is too short to waste time being angry... lets get over it, and get back to hugging and kissing and enjoying each other....     I'm pretty easy going and down to earth. I got to travel the world while in the service and I do like to travel when I get the time. I have a bit of an independent streak. I feel that neither of us should have to change to be the others idea of a perfect partner. We are who we are so let's just be real & honest and see if it turns into something. I like outdoor activities: scuba diving, camping, ATV/mudding, walks on the beach, I like to cook and sometimes I'm even good at it....LOL. I still like wild roller coaster rides (the ones at the amusement parks). I think everyone needs some excitement in their life. I have to be a professional all day at work, in my free time I want to have fun and maybe even get a little silly at times. LOLI spend a fair amount of time volunteering in the community and have a couple of pet projects that I work on. I'm pretty handy, I like to work with my hands. I'm a fairly open person, not shy or easily intimidated, my honesty may scare some people, but I think it makes life simpler. I'm not looking someone to cook for me, or clean my house or sew or do my laundry I'm perfectly capable of caring for myself. What I do want is a partner with a personality that compliments mine, and has similar interests, and is my equal. Someone that is as comfortable riding an ATV and getting muddy as well getting dressed up for a special night out. An honest woman that carries herself with confidence turns my head. First dates can be as simple a getting a cup of coffee or walking around a local downtown area. Any situation that puts both at ease and makes it easy to talk is the best way to start. If both people are honest and sincere on first date, it will quickly be learned if there is more to come.

    I like the outdoors - things like short hikes in the mountains, smaller concert venues, walks, cooking out. I am in good shape; yet don't spend every evening in the gym. Two are grown, number three will be all too soon, so more free time on my hands these days. They are all really good kids, don't know where we went right in that regard!
