About Me

Self-description is an ability that I often lack. I like to think of myself as an amateur intellectual (sounds far less pretentious than "scholar") of decent appearance with a rather dry sense of humor. I know where I want to be in thirty years, I just need to get there. I can be opinionated at times, but I reject close-mindedness. I can be just as comfortable spending a day in as I can be wandering in the middle of nowhere. I have a bit of a green thumb (currently trying to revive a backyard that was poisoned by a pepper tree for thirty years) and am quite handy when needed. I am very much a dog person and have had dogs my entire life; something I am very unlikely to change. The two biggest driving forces in my life are my love of good stories and a deep belief in the ability of mankind (in the non-gender specific sense) to improve itself. These two essentials can likely be seen as the core motivation behind 95% of everything I think, say, and do. The other 5% consists of unknown material (preliminary studies indicate primitive *** a likely candidate). Nearly everyone on the face of the planet will tell you they're a good listener. But I'll go one step further and admit that my reason for listening is half-selfish. Good stories can be found anywhere and I get genuine enjoyment hearing them. Another trait I feel I must address is my style of writing. I have been informed that my choices in structure and vocabulary have a certain formality about them. I do not disagree, but all efforts to correct the problem have been for naught. All I can do is make assurances that in actual conversation, I am perfectly capable of speaking like a normal human being (unless nervous, in which case I can end up talking like this, too).I am permanently engaged in a process of self-discovery. Recent self-discoveries include: I actually do enjoy a good cup of tea, staining and sealing a wood floor is not nearly as difficult as it seems, creative writing is a good way to get weird thoughts out of your head, I am incredibly dependent on my voice, I have some strong opinions about events that occurred centuries ago, and I don't look half bad in a suit. I really am a no-pressure sort of guy. Good conversation (even ok conversation) is all I really need. I will also answer literally any question asked of me. Test it and find out how true that last sentence is. Anything that allows for conversation. Nothing too fancy. Maybe a bit of tea and a walk around somewhere nice. To be perfectly honest, dates in the traditional sense are rather confusing to me. I usually just make friends and allow for organic progression.

I love being outdoors I'm not a big city person, I don't like going to clubs I'd rather just sit around a fire and throw a few back. I'm a country boy at heart, there ain't no better place than being out in the middle of no where, my dream house is a big log house on mountain away from everybody. I'd prefer to live off the land then live in the city.C., just moved here in January and I get out in a year so not planning on being here for to long. Go horseback riding then I could make dinner and relax and get to know each other.
