About Me

I'm a caring person, who tries to lead a life of deep thought and kind actions. I think a lot about the world, the people in it, and the nature of all that exists. I don't think anyone has ever thought of me as normal. I love learning about the various cultures around the world. In fact I'm working towards a career in linguistics in the hope of being able to experience and work with those cultures first hand. As cliché as it may be I've always found the cultures of Asia to be very fascinating. It's the area of the world I'd most like to see and to explore both in traveling there and in understanding and experiencing the people who live within its cultures. I've had a soft spot for Japan in particular since I was very young.I'm also an artist. I enjoy writing stories in whatever format suits me at the time, although I've had a nasty case of writers block for a while now. I also draw and paint when the mood strikes me. I enjoy cooking as well, and the only thing that's stopped me from being a great chef is that I only seem to remember that once I've actually gotten started cooking whatever it is that needs cooking. I'm never sure what will appeal to me, although I do tend to enjoy deep and thoughtful ideas, as well as good romances. I also tend to really dislike things that are really depressing. I like music, but am never sure what will appeal to me. D. J. P. LovecraftI like anime and manga, although I don't make a lifestyle around it. It's just something that I enjoy and find just as engaging as a good book or movie. Plus all the various glimpses in to Japanese culture are a lot of fun for me and can be good practice for listening to the language.My spiritual life is important to me. I'm very accepting of other's beliefs and am very careful not to pass judgment on others or interfere with their lives based on my own beliefs. I do my best to understand others, and treat people with the equality and respect that they deserve. I'm content to spend a lot of time at home doing something like reading a book, writing, or watching a movie. I'm not really the kind of person who needs to go out much and if I do it's usually with a small group of friends for a relaxed evening, or going to hang out at someone's house for a while. Hmm I'm not sure what more I can say beyond all that. To really get to know each other it'll take more than just a reading over a few paragraphs after all. Still I hope this gives you some idea and hopefully catches your interest. To be honest I really just like to get to know the person on the first date in a relaxed setting. I like nice scenery and good food so those are always a plus for whatever we're doing. Beyond that though the person I'm with is really more important that where we are.
