It doesn't really matter where we go or what we do its all about getting to know someone and see if there is a connection.A funny first date: I was meeting someone I had never met before to go kayaking...In an effort not to be late, I rushed out of my car, shut the door and before I could stop it, I realized that my keys were locked inside..oops! My date asked what I wanted to do, I said lets kayak. So we kayaked and figured it out when we were done. Embarrassing? YES, but there was nothing I could do about it right then and there and didn't want to ruin what had the potential of being a great date! Needless to say, it didn't work out but was still memorable:-).

I think people would describe me as outgoing, energetic and kind, however, while training, most would not put "kind" in their description of me. I have a passion for people and have made some great connections with online dating, but haven't found the one who finally puts my dating days to rest. I love to laugh and can be a little sarcastic at times. I am told that I don't look or act my age.....I think that is a good thing. I firmly believe in balance and hope to find that someone who is independent and confident. I also need someone who understands that being a parent is my biggest role right now. I only have a few years left before all the "chicks are out of the nest". I grew up playing sports my whole life and have been blessed with athletic children. I love to work out and obviously have to make that part of my lifestyle due to my job. I hope to meet someone who also has made exercising part of their lifestyle without it becoming an obsession. I like playing golf and unfortunately didn't get much time over the past 2 years to play, but plan on working on my game going forward. Those of you who have been in the dating pool on and off know what I am talking about when I say that there is that special spark you get when you meet the right person. To me dating is like a puzzle.....the pieces have to fit. There is both the emotional as well as physical connection I look for in a guy. Travelling and getting away for long weekends is something I would enjoy doing with the right person. I speak Spanish (much more fluently after a few beers), yet at heart love my wine. I am a pretty decent cook and it would be great to have someone share in that passion for food and wine. I love a good burger, so Vegetarians may not be the best fit for me. I come from a large family back East and have a special place in my heart to be near the ocean at least once a year. Some of you are "Lake" people and some are salt water fans like me. I enjoy being on a lake and grew up learning how to windsurf and sail on one. Well, I could say more, but believe getting to know me should be done in person. think I listed out a few things that should give you a better look into who I am and what I am looking for.Is it wrong to say that I am looking for someone to challenge me? Those who know me will tell you that I am not a shy person. I am a very compassionate person who is ready to meet someone who will be there by my side but also help me grow as a person (not physically of course :)) but mentally and emotionally. My girlfriends teased me that my original pics on this site made me look "boring"......I didn't have anyone reaching out to me and then realized that my profile was hidden.LOl. Maybe that wont change anything but at least its now out there. I am not a boring person, but for whatever reason they urged me to get some new photos on here......whether this gets me any suitors remains to be seen, but this was my....or really "their" attempt to make me look less boring! What I state in my profile really is me... I have nothing to hide and am a pretty open book. I like to laugh...as you can see I have plenty of laughlines to prove that. Lets see what happens! Is it ok to say I dont like first dates? I am pretty lay back and go with the flow but when it comes to a first date, ugh! I like 2nd dates bc then I have seen the person and my level of comfort is much more evident. Dont get me wrong, I am not a shy person and can hold a conversation with the best of them, I just enjoy having the initial meeting over and then deciding whether there is a connection. I would probably have to say that a first date would be best over a drink....not fond of coffee dates......I will never go to a movie for a first date again, especially when you dont know what they like (big lesson learned there)Suprise me!
