I like to stay in shape and would love to meet someone who would enjoy that with me. And even if not with me, you taking care of yourself is gonna be pretty important. That does not mean I want to see a picture of you with your shirt off. As a matter of fact...I'd really rather not and every girl I know would say the same thing so please take that down before you write to me. :)' My dogs are my pride and joy. Recently retired from a non-profit org. I started 5 years ago so am busy trying to not be busy and finding some balance again. Yes, I do still have a real job; 2 actually. When not working I enjoy time at the local coffee shops reading a good book, the paper on Sunday mornings, or just spending time with neighbors that I might happen upon. Being productive at home is relaxing for me on a Saturday and then out with friends at night. I do love to travel and have done a lot of it, around the world, but don't get to as much as I'd like these days. Road trips are a favorite as well. My community is important to me and I try to stay involved in local issues. Enjoy word games, NPR, photography exhibits, writing, and cherish time with friends and time alone equally. Describing my personality in one word is impossible and Rockstar isn't it but I love that idea that it would be. Been called a bunch of those words they list for us to choose from; artsy, athletic, animal lover, beach bum, adventurer, starving artist, hippie, coffee snob, book worm, tree hugger. That last one makes me laugh. Things no one has ever called me and never will are chef, foodie, straight edge, fashionista and techie. Though I wish I was a techie. If you haven't read a book in a few years...have a need to be needed...don't understand why anyone would travel outside of the US...or if you consider killing animals a hobby, a right or a favor...please pass me by. Thanks. Oh, and if you aren't single. Depends on my mood at the time, and the guy of course. Low key real life events are good. I like to see how someone gets along in the real world as opposed to sitting across from me and saying what they think I want to hear while we both imbibe an array of adult beverages. Ouch! Did I really just write that out loud? Maybe an art show or small venue live music event so we'd have something in common to talk about in the moment and a reason to be out other than just each other. Then, even if we don't enjoy each other the time spent isn't a total loss.

Gosh, where do I start? Hobbies include traveling, dancing, and both quiet meaningful chats and/or silly conversations that make me giggle. After working as an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) for 15 years, I recently graduated from college with my first degree, and am now employed as an RN. Never too old to learn! As for what makes me unique, hmmmm..... I am me. I have raised three children, and now consider myself a work in progress. I value honesty and humor in both myself and others, above all else. I've recently renewed my passport, and am hoping to do some serious traveling in the near future. My ultimate goal here, is to find someone with whom we can mutually enjoy each other's company, from soup to nuts. NOT looking to be a serial dater. While this works for some, it is just not for me.***Just had the most amazing news, about a person very dear to me. What a wonderful way to usher out the old year, and bring in one anew.... Pretty much anything in a public/safe venue, that would also allow for some quiet get to know each other time.

I like to watch Bama football, ROLL TIDE! Not really into any other sports. I play the Tn. lottery once a week including scratch off tickets. This is strictly for fun and if I end up winning, then good for me. I work hard for what I earn and like what I do, (most of the time). I don't like liars or thieves, and don't want anything to do with people who think they are better than I am. Don't tell me certain things don't matter if they really do, because I am not stupid and certain things DO matter to most, including me.I like to go to the movies, comedies are my favorite, but I also like action, dramas and romantic movies. I am not lazy, but I like to relax after work because, like I said, I work hard for my money.Sometimes I will go for a walk after work, just to take some time to unwind. (Plus it is good exercise) I have one small dog. I listen mostly to Country music and love to go to concerts. I do like classic and southern rock. I have one son who is married and one grandchild. I am not really a Diva, but it wouldn't let me save my profile without picking one word to describe myself. (OK, I am a little bit of a Diva) :) My idea of a first date would probably be to meet somewhere maybe for a soda/coffee/beer. Just to get to know one another a little better and see if there is any kind of connection. It wouldn't have to be formal, just casual dress. (I am not the dress up type anyway.) I guess we would know if there were a connection between us if we made it to a second soda/coffee/beer.
