About Me

I am a native Floridian so I love the water and beaches. I've been here a little while now, but I consider myself new to the area in terms of still needing to explore so much around here.I like to do outdoor activities as well as relax with a movie or nice dinner. I am quiet at first, but as I get to know someone I am more out-going. I like almost all types of music and have tried to learn all types of dancing. I like to travel to explore places and meet people. I enjoy someone with a good sense of humor (not a gross one, but a good-hearted one). I like some banter. I think taller guys should be with taller girls - there aren't too many and we need them! :-)I tend to prefer people with good attitudes about everything. I like someone who is mature, yet can be silly at times. "Ideal" is hard to say. I believe that the questions we were prompted to answer for this helped to give us some insight into each other. Each case is different, of course. I like someone who can talk about most subjects and someone who likes to do things/is active, but who can also enjoy relaxing. I believe all good relationships start with a foundation of friendship (but also with chemistry, of course), leading to a more romantic relationship.I have been sky diving, but need to go again; I am SCUBA certified, but it's been a while and I want to get back into it; I went to school in the SE and studied some out of the country, after hard work to get there; my parents are originally from NYC, with Irish, German, English, and Spanish roots;; I have worked with the military in the past; I enjoy traveling; and I have been around the US and other countries for work and vacations.I am looking for a STRONG person...someone who is secure with themselves.. and that comes in many forms;.. did you ever stop to think maybe your soul mate wasn't placed conveniently right down the street for you? You are hopefully cool with kids (I only have one, but you would have to like her eventually) and cats (I have one; we said goodbye to the other one earlier this year which hurt beyond hurt). Also, you don't want to rush me off to bed. I am not in a rush to sleep with anyone and will not answer to any e-mail that is a blatant request for sex. I'm also not going to apologize for that statement. I've kept a clean health record thus far in life and won't tarnish it for something that means nothing to me. First dates should be simple affairs. I think noisy is out, quiet and laid back is where it's at. I prefer a brief first meeting to see if there is an interest. I think it's perfectly okay to meet mid-week for coffee or drink and if the feeling's right, plan for a weekend follow-up date. Still, life isn't perfect. I tend to play life by ear.

    Enough to break the ice. Anyway...This is the hard part. Trying to combine honesty without sounding conceited or horribly flawed, combining what I want to say with what I think you want to hear, and attempting to come up with the best possible version of myself in a paragraph. I'm honest (sometimes to a fault), I'm very funny (sometimes inappropriately), I'm smart (sometimes intolerant of those not as smart as me). I own a home, have a 23 year old daughter and 2 dogs. I read, I cook, I study, I go to the gym and my Ipod shows my undiagnosed ADD. In the spring and summer add gardening to that list. So that's me in a very small nutshell.     Updated ***Ok any questions I guess you will just have to ask me, most of the important questions are in my profile (that's if anyone bothers to read these things) I have met quite a few people on here that have become ( I consider) good friends! To be honest I am looking for that special someone that just blows me away and would eventually love me with all their heart and soul just as I would them!
