I currently work in industry, but I prefer research and academia. I am very passionate about the neotropics and I would like to design a graduate study looking at plant- At this time, graduate school is a priority in my life and it's important to me (if I become involved in a relationship), that my partner is incredibly supportive of my desire to do international research. I use to be a tree planter. I can be sensitive and emotional sometimes (I think this comes along with being a very passionate individual). I cried when the "tree of life" was destroyed in Avatar. I like too many things for my own good: Reading (currently reading "The Motorcycle Diaries" and "A Brief History of Nearly Everything"), writing, learning Spanish, ethic foods, eating healthy, cross country skiing, swimming, running, horses (I use to be a competitive rider, but now I simply ride for fun), backpacking (I've done a number of amazing trips), kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddle boarding, going out for beers, museums, breakfast, wool socks, biology ID books, playing the guitar, piano and ukulele, primates, sleeping, building things, travel...etc.I've traveled to and/or lived in several countries and look forward to much more traveling in my life. I really love Latin culture and would love to bike around south America with the right partner one day. I don't wear makeup, and very rarely dress up... but if the occasion calls, I'll put on a stunning dress and drop some jaws. You:Are probably a well educated (perhaps even geeky - like myself), modest, passionate, somewhat athletic (because of all the cool activities you do), adventurous, down to earth, level-headed guy who's been moderately successful in life. You truly believe that people can be perfect together, and the idea of dating an ambitious, outspoken, quirky girl makes you smile. I prefer to do some type of activity on a first date... Going for a walk, bowling, biking, skiing...etc. Of course, starting with something basic (like coffee) and spontaneously deciding to do something else would be fun too.

Where to start...I wish I could say that I am new to this and don't know what to expect, but the truth is this is about the 3rd time I've tried this, and I pretty much know what to expect, but I'm hoping to be surprised this time around! I've met some interesting people just nothing that has worked out.I'm pretty much your average girl, I'm a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, but I do enjoy getting dressed up and dolled up every once in awhile. I'm not a slob or anything, I like to look good, I just can't justify taking 2 hours to get ready all the time, I have other things I want to do with my time! What do I like to do? Well, I have 2 horses that I spend a lot of time riding/training. I also play soccer a few times a week. I have a dog that I like to spend time with as well. I'm not a huge bar star but every once in the while I get the urge to party...I usually regret it the next few days after but it's always fun in the moment! Anyone else feel the Personality option on meetville is very limiting? How am I supposed to choose my personality from a list of one word options? I'd like to think I am a mix of a number of the options provided:Adventurer - I am almost always up for an adventure! I enjoy exploring new places, trying new things and sporadic road trips.Animal lover - yup. I don't currently have a pet but I plan to get a dog soon!
