About Me

Came from a place where there wasn't much to do, so I'm looking forward to being in a big city! Recently finished nursing school - am looking forward to expanding my career. This is also one of the reasons why I moved to Calgary as there is a lot more opportunity for work and growth in the health care field.Friends and family are very important to me, so I always try to make as much time as I can to see them. With this move I'll be leaving a lot of family and friends behind so I'm hoping to use this time to focus on my career. I love all types of music. All depending on my mood my playlist ranges anywhere from top hits to any of the local bands around town. I'm not picky with different genres. Some of my favorite things to do are hopping in a car with no place to go, catching up with friends on the phone or going for a coffee, and taking my dog for long walks. Having a quiet night in is always nice too! With some free time I'm hoping to get back in to competitive rowing - Competed for 8 years before an injury that kept me from continuing. Hitting up the gym and going for runs is something I keep up with to stay healthy :) Or even just going for a long walk! Watching sports on TV is great too - but I would definitely prefer to play them. I'm looking for an honest guy to get to know, not rush in to things, and take it from there.     I love to travel and hope to see all the continents before I die (Antarctica is probably a long shot, I know). After graduating from SFU I moved to Taiwan for a year and then backpacked around Southeast Asia for a few months.’ve been lucky enough to get away every couple of years to explore more of the world.I love to read all kinds of stuff, from graphic novels to classics to nonfiction. Music is really important to me, and I almost always have something playing in the background, no matter what I'm doing. I love discovering new music and I'll give bands from any genre a chance, even country and rap. If a song has a good beat and is fun to dance to, chances are I'll like it (unless it's Maroon 5 or Nickelback...terrible). I also enjoy lots of different movies, but lately I've gravitated towards sci-fi and fantasy types of films, as well as horror. I definitely have a nerdy side; my favourite show is Jeopardy and I kick ass at Jenga.-3 times a week. I wouldn't say I'm overly athletic, but I'm aiming to do Tough Mudder and the West Coast Trail next year... I'm not much into clubbing anymore, and would rather get together with my friends at a bar to catch the Canucks game or have a board game night. I love going to see movies and plays, checking out new restaurants, and trying different drinks/food. I'm also a huge animal lover; one of my favourite ways to unwind is to play with my dog and take her for walks.I'd like to meet someone who loves laughing and having fun and who has similar interests (obviously...wouldn't we all?). I can be a bit shy at first, so it would be good to meet someone who's outgoing and can pull me out of my shell. My lifestyle is pretty low-maintenance and drama-free, and I'd like to keep it that way.     Back in the dating saddle again! Well I have to admit it has been awhile since I have done this, but I assume its like riding a bike. haha I am a born and raised Calgarian, which is rare I know! Although I have spent most of my life here I have also had the privilege of traveling the world... almost 3 years ago (seems so long ago!!!) and I loved it. I have a huge passion for Europe and have been to many countries throughout. Asia is next on the list and hopefully I'll make it there next year. I have been saving my pennies! I also love food and wine, I would like to say I am an amazing cook, but I am probably better at drinking wine. I would like to say that "l love the gym" but that just isn't true. I find it is a necessary evil so that I can eat ice cream and not feel guilty haha. I like to hike, bike, swim, ski, camp and always my favorite Sunday activity ... veg on the couch (variety is the spice of life ;.. not the jail side) and I tend to go a little overboard with the decorating at Halloween and Christmas... I love to explore my creative side and always have 50 projects on the go... but have a hard time finishing them with a busy schedule always keeping me on my toes. Most of my friends here are getting married and settling down. I on the other hand have not yet made the transition from hot tub parties and keggers to tupperware parties and board game nights. I guess at some point I will make the transition into that category, just not quite yet!!! haha ... I am looking for someone who I can talk about everything with, learn from, share new experiences with, and just have a good time. As I said before travel is a huge part of my life and It would be nice to have someone to go on adventures with. If you are up for the challenge, drop me a line.P.S.
