About Me

I would like to meet new friends. I wish that option was available in the "intent" portion of the profile. Anyway, any time I have ever been in a happy and comfortable relationship with a man, it always started out as a friendship. Let's try to start off on the right foot and cultivate a friendship. I have started learning the guitar. I love the way it sounds when I play the opening to Wish You Were Here and that one cool part in No Woman No Cry. I like to travel. I wouldn't mind ending up there for good one day. In the mean, time I'd like to see more of the world. Have you ever been described as a nerdy brainy person? If so, I bet I'd like to meet you. My life doesn't need to consist of thrill ride after thrill ride. In fact, I'm not at all interested in that type of thing. I'm not all about being outdoors and climbing mountains or riding on the back of someone's motorcycle. I like those things but they are not the only things I live for. I want you to stimulate my mind and to get excited about describing and explaining things to me. (I'd be happy to return the favor) I do find that sexy.I work in the health field assisting in surgery. It's a great career and keeps me in student mode most days. I have two adult kids and two grand babies (4 and 7). They are a joyful part of my life and keep me laughing. I have a pretty easy nature with a slightly neurotic side. It's actually pretty amusing to the observer (so I'm told) l'm really looking for an easy going guy who doesn't get turned off by a woman who knows there's more to life than an empty sink and crisp white socks. I do like order but I have a hard time achieving it. Ultimately, I would like to be in a serious relationship but I'm not going to force one into happening. Even if the chemistry is there, I prefer to move slowly. Did I mention I'm looking for a friend? I really want to meet someone who will have my best intrest at heart because I promise you, that's what I have to offer in return.I'm encouraged to discuss my taste in music here. I like it all to some degree. I do have discriminating taste in music but there is always a time and place for most varieties.my uniqueness is in the eye of the beholder.     I like traveling and visiting new places. I like nature, like to hike and explore , etc. I not a major camper but do enjoy being outdoors. I love going to the movies, out to eat, and good conversation. I like to meet new people and consider myself a people person. People watching can be fun too. I am patriotic but not real political. I enjoy athletic events spectating and participating in some. I really like walking outdoors and staying fit. I am a small town girl with values. I live in the country where it is quiet and enjoy that, but I did enjoy living in a big city too. My children and family are very important to my life. Volunteering is something I enjoy and I love helping people, surprising them, etc. I like to read, cook, play board games, learn new things and explore, and listen to music(most kinds). I like computers but are not the best at working on them. I am learning though. I love to travel but have not gotten to do a lot of that lately. I work more than one job so do not have lots of time but I like to stay busy. I love the elderly and work with them for my part time job . I work for the local Area Department of Aging teaching them exercise classes and getting people to volunteer for them. I do a lot of public speaking too. I am also a teacher for my full time job, so it is good that I love kids! I work with middle school students mainly teaching English and Math. IBesides loving other people's children, I have two wonderful sons, ages 16 and 24, of my own. Both sons have always been busy and active too. I do not have much time left of being taxi mom and sports/activities mom. I am finding myself with more time for socializing than I used to have. Though it is one of the toughest jobs that I know of , I love being a mom. I enjoy making new friends and dating. I would definitely be interested in a long term relationship with the right person. You can ask me anything, and I will be honest.. I feel that is necessary in any good relationship. I am also trustworthy, compassionate, loving, giving, caring, and good-hearted. Laughing and talking together to get to know someone is important. I believe that having a good sense of humor and being able to laugh at oneself is important too. I believe there needs to be some spark or chemistry for things to develop beyond a friendship. The physical attraction has to be there as well. Beauty is on the inside and the outside both, and what is beautiful to one is not necessarily beautiful to another. I am up for just about anything but I think that someplace loud is not the best for the initial meeting unless you plan for someplace quiet later in the date. I have had a lot of fun activity dates too. Just warn me what to wear. LOL
