You don't want the night to end, and you can't wait to see each other again. I've gone on first dates to a bar and not even finished one drink, and the date was amazing because of the conversation and the mutual attraction - that's what's important. You know quickly whether you want another date. A kiss goodnight and asking on the first date for a second date are always the best ways to end a first date.
