I love both the mountains and the coast, but the mountains are my favorite!I am a mental health professional, and have had a very exciting carer. I have recently embarked on a career in healthcare. I love both science and the humanities, and this career allows me to explore both hard and social science.For fun I enjoy hanging out for coffee or a drink. I enjoy the performing arts, as well as reading fiction and watching movies. I watch a lot of independant movies. I don't enjoy the bar scene for social encounters, but do enjoy going out to dance to lose myself in the music.My match is somebody who likes to learn, and have fun. Who doesn't mind going out or staying in, and cuddling on the couch. Somebody who will introduce me to their interests while being tolerent of mine.     Thought I'd give this site a try, was recommended to me by my cousin. I'm looking to meet some new people that have the same interests as me.     I used to be the girl next door, but I guess now I am the woman next door. I am active. Whether I am teaching, working the concession stand at the ballpark or watching my son play ball at the ballpark, working out at the gym, or just keeping up with my two teens and their lives, I am moving. When I am at home, I enjoy being at home watching old movies or reruns and being still for a little while. My time on the treadmill is spent reading. My favorite books lately are science fiction and fantasy books. I like all different types of music (pop, rock, country, classical)...my favorite though is 80's music. I am not a big fan of music that is angry or degrading to a race or gender. My strengths are that I am genuinely caring, I am witty and look for humor in things , and I look for the good in others. I am also willing to try new adventures or redo old adventures with new people. I will act shy at first, but it fades fast. A first date for me would be time together in which we can talk and get to know each other while having fun. Doing something out and about would make me most comfortable. Playing mini golf, an amusement park, batting cages all provide activity but the freedom to talk. A sporting event would be a great idea also (baseball of course is my favorite, but I really like all sports). I am not as adventurous in eating. So I wouldn't enjoy a fancy restaurant. Anywhere I can get BBQ or a salad or chicken makes me happy and usually provides a comfy atmosphere to share with someone new.
