I used to be, but doctors put me on meds that made me gain weight and I'm working my way back but in the meantime... I don't like the typical ANYTHING. Typcial first date dinner and movie, gag me. It's so awkward and then you can't talk during the movie and you're just stuck next to this person that you don't know if you like for the next couple of hours. I'd rather go bowling or something like that. You're free to talk, if you get hungry, they've got some great greasy food and most bowling allies are equipped with bars...

I used to be the girl next door, but I guess now I am the woman next door. I am active. Whether I am teaching, working the concession stand at the ballpark or watching my son play ball at the ballpark, working out at the gym, or just keeping up with my two teens and their lives, I am moving. When I am at home, I enjoy being at home watching old movies or reruns and being still for a little while. My time on the treadmill is spent reading. My favorite books lately are science fiction and fantasy books. I like all different types of music (pop, rock, country, classical)...my favorite though is 80's music. I am not a big fan of music that is angry or degrading to a race or gender. My strengths are that I am genuinely caring, I am witty and look for humor in things , and I look for the good in others. I am also willing to try new adventures or redo old adventures with new people. I will act shy at first, but it fades fast. A first date for me would be time together in which we can talk and get to know each other while having fun. Doing something out and about would make me most comfortable. Playing mini golf, an amusement park, batting cages all provide activity but the freedom to talk. A sporting event would be a great idea also (baseball of course is my favorite, but I really like all sports). I am not as adventurous in eating. So I wouldn't enjoy a fancy restaurant. Anywhere I can get BBQ or a salad or chicken makes me happy and usually provides a comfy atmosphere to share with someone new.
