Welcome! So to start off I'm a born and raised Vancouverite, which is unusual these days it seems. That being said, I'm not a very good Vancouverite since I don't do yoga, I don't wear a toque in the middle of summer, I don't know how to ski or snowboard (though I'm not against learning!), I don't own anything by lululemon, I can't possibly figure out how to eat all organic, natural and local food while following the latest random health craze (and staying within a reasonable budget), I'm not a bandwagon jumper (I love my teams, through wins and losses), I like to ride my bike, but I also have a car which truthfully gets me around more easily than my bike (but it doesn't mean that I don't care about the environment) and lastly, I probably don't know that obscure band that you are talking about (though I'd love to hear them and will probably like them). I'm open minded and not pretentious. I'm looking for someone of a similar nature. I care about what's going on in the world and am definitely a news junkie. I used to work in international affairs, I continue to volunteer with the Red Cross and respond to disasters when necessary. I have a professional career that allows me to take care of myself. I love to travel. I've been to a few interesting places, heard of Djibouti? I'm pretty easy going, but definitely have opinions, I'm a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl and I'm close to my family. When I go out, it's usually to a pub with friends to watch a Canucks game, watch a band play or hang out on a patio. I'm a big sports fan, hockey, soccer and football being my favourites. I like to stay active and be outdoors in general. I play soccer a few times a week and have a pretty blue bike that needs to get out more. I laugh at myself easily, which is good, since I'm easy to tease apparently. If you're going to send me a message, please write more than a few words. I won't tell you that because then there would be too much pressure and I probably wouldn't be funny and I'd end up not funny (unfunny?) and a liar. I have off days like anyone but for the most part, I try to stay positive and enjoy the heck out of this thing called life. Kind of hit a stand still on how to meet people so thought I'd give this a shot. Though I'm not necessarily a shy person, I can be when I don't know someone. Unfortunately in social situations this tends to come off as aloof and/or snobby. I don't really like the part of this site where it asks what you are looking for. I'm still new to this online dating thing and not totally comfortable with it yet. I definitely want to find a relationship at some point; I just don't want to force it. Something where we can talk... coffee (big surprise), walk in the park, etc. I love movies but it makes it difficult to get to know someone. A first date when you haven't previously met the person should probably be fairly casual... lots of conversation and assessing attraction, easy out if there isn't any.
