;R. I'm not very competitive, but I do like to try new things. My hobbies includes crafty and DIY projects that involves working with my hands. I usually listen to 70's & 80's rock music. I have a shy nature in crowds and small groups but usually do fine with one-on-one conversations when meeting new people. I'm an excellent listener and enjoy getting to know new friends. A first date should encompass one on one time to allow for conversation to get to know each other. The obvious would be a dinner out. However, it could include trying something new or something that both have not done in years like bowling or horseback riding. I would want to feel safe, so it should be in a public place, but allow for private conversation. The most important aspect of a first date is both should be able to walk away knowing each other well enough to know if they are interested in a second date.
