Don’t get me wrong, I love to go out – see a movie, visit friends, go to the St.’s market, visit towns with antique stores, museums and Tim coffees. BUT – I love to return home and let out that contented sigh that means I’m home – that place of welcome, calm, comfort and peace. I love the alchemy of cooking – bringing various ingredients together under different conditions resulting in magic! I‘m in my element when I’m slicing, dicing and blending. Is there any better smell than onions, garlic and peppers softening in the pan? I like making the old fashioned simple foods – savoury, hearty and satisfying. I’ve had marriage proposals for my soups. I have insatiable curiosity about the world. I am a library and second hand book store junky. (BTW wouldn’t that be a great first date? – going to a used book sale together. You would learn just about everything you need to know about a person and reveal yourself as well.) Right now I am enjoying the sweetness of moving into this new stage in my life. I have work that I enjoy, that I excel in. I enjoy and value the opportunity to parent. I derive great pleasure from the simple things in life. I enjoy being a positive and grateful person, and I enjoy others who are like that as well. I have spent my life working hard and striving to become whole. I am comfortable with who I am. And who I am is a “lover”. I am the most me I can be when I am loving. I have many different kinds of love in my life which I enjoy. The love that I ache for is a romantic love. This love is a necessity for me. I am a people person! I enjoy meeting new people and being with friends and family. Life is an adventure and every day there is something to learn, enjoy and experience. Hiking, camping, paddling are some of my favorite activities. I prefer to canoe and kayak as I like to enjoy the slow pace, the scenery, and sneaking up on wildlife to capture pictures. When I am not roaming the bush or paddling the lakes, I enjoy parties, events and ongoing education. This fall I am thinking of darts? My three children are over 18 years old and I spend a lot of time with them, and I have some really good friends. I have animals and can honestly say my best friend is "my dog"! She and I are avid hikers.I have an addiction to "scary movies" especially Zombie movies, and the cheesier the better! LOL and also enjoy comedies and dramas. I love to explore and I am always on the look out for old abandoned houses to check out. Road trips are lots of fun and exploring new places is a great pastime.- I would take sunset, but there is nothing like being in the canoe in the early morning mist.
