Hi There, I am easy going, have high standards when it comes to a person's character, but I know how to have fun. I am close to my family and enjoy a variety of people. I have a job with a lot of interaction with people, and meet people easily, but would like to meet men from places other than the small area where I live and work. I like to be active, but have no passion for any particular athletic activity. I like to hike and bike, garden and do yard work, visit historical sites, and spend time in the natural world, but I also like cities and arts, shows, exhibits, bookstores, boating, antique shops, and the list goes on. I really enjoy being home too. A rainy afternoon on the couch with a good book, good movie, great company and great food, or a leisurely afternoon on the back deck with friends is a wonderful thing. I like to cook, love large dogs, good laughs and great conversation. I enjoy a variety of music.- BB Kings House of Blues has amazing vocalists. There are many more places to vist. I have many interests, love to read about the greater world, and am a NPR and public tv geek. Humor is very important, and having screaming fun at times is necessary. Even things you hate to do can be enjoyable with the right people. I don't really think you can get a good sense of people through electronic communication, so I prefer to share more in person. Oh, and the mixed color hair - is brown with some well-deserved gray. Two years of German for undergrad, but really don't remember how to speak well.Please understand that it is not smart or safe for women to respond to messages or profiles without photos. A first date can be anything enjoyable - a country fair, the aquarium, or a show, a good movie, a hike or an afternoon on a boat. It takes a couple of meetings to know if you want to go on an actual date, so *** first date, perhaps a first meeting is more in order, something simple, like over coffee or a simple walk in the park.

    I've reached a time in my life where I realize my world shouldn't entirely revolve around my kids as it does now. They will always be the most important thing in my life, but I need to find myself once again and start seeking other ways to make myself happy. That being said... I absolutely love the beach, just relaxing all day with a cooler beside me and my feet in the water. My problems seem to melt away once I'm there. I'm active with our local Relay for Life, am a regular blood/platelet donor, involved with our youth group at church, support local animal charities, and just try in general to reach out to others. I'm definitely a "motherly" type. I sometimes feel that I care too much which causes unnecessary worrying... but that's just the way I am.

    My three children are grown and all have their own families.Yes I spoil the four grandkids but that is what Grandma is supposed to do right? But it is now time for me to enjoy life and hopefully find someone to share my life with. I love to travel, a day trip or an extended trip, it is all good.
