About Me

Hello there. So here I am on this dating site completely niave to the dating scene and how things work these days. I was with my ex-husband for 19 years so I have very little experience dating as an adult. We have been seperated for over two years and divorced since March, ***. I'm ready to meet new people, date, have fun and see what happens. I am the mother of 3 awesome boys. They are 19, 15, and 9 years old. The teenagers keep me on my toes and my youngest is my sweetheart. I work full time, take care of my home and my boys and that keeps me pretty busy. I want to find someone who recognizes that my boys are my priority and who is interested in just hanging out and getting to know each other. I honestly don't know if I'm ready for a serious relationship. I guess that is something only time will tell. I like to work out and take care of myself. I enjoy running, kickboxing, and kayaking. I would love to find someone who enjoys running and would like to run together. I like to participate in 5K races and am currently training to run in a 10K. I also like to spend time with my friends and go to concerts. I have a great group of friends, many of which I consider family. I absolutley love the beach. Give me sand, water, and sun and I am a happy girl. :) I'm honest (almost to a fault), caring, fun, easy going, and not easily offended. I like to joke around and don't like to be around people that take them selves too seriously. Life is too short to not have fun. I am definatley a "glass is half full" kind of girl and enjoy being around other people who can find the positives out of every situation. I believe that everything happens for a reason and I am a strong, independant, confident women because of life experiences. If you would like to know more about me lets chat. :)

I'm an intelligent, kind-hearted, fun-loving person who seeks the same qualities in another. I would like to meet someone who has no initial expectations, but who is open to a long-term relationship. What that means is, I am looking for love, but I don't have an agenda. I have no interest in being in a relationship, simply to cure the loneliness. Being in a relationship that does not fulfill you emotionally and spiritually is possibly the loneliest place you can be. I hope to meet someone who is willing to go with the flow and see where things go naturally, but you should at least be open to the possibility that we might find something beautiful. Real chemistry and a true connection are very important to me, and it is essential that you value mutual respect and intimacy. Ideally, I would like to meet someone with the eyes of an artist, the soul of a poet (no pressure), and the tongue of a comedian...or at least a really good kisser. I realize that is a tall order and quite frankly I was only half-serious, so I am willing to compromise on everything except the good kisser part. Ha! I am the single mother of a teenager and my only child is currently in the process of leaving the nest. Though I hate having to let go, I am looking forward to a new beginning for myself and meeting someone new to share my life with. That said, however, I am looking for some specific qualities in a future partner. I’m looking for a man who treats his friends and family well, as I would like to be included in at least one of those categories...and you must be able to tolerate mine. :-p I would like to meet someone who compliments me (no, not verbally lol), rather than completes me. Someone who sees the brighter side of things and who will support & encourage me when I need it, but who knows when to have my back, or at least validate me, if I’m not having the greatest day. If a man has children, they need to be his priority even if it’s at my expense, or else how could I respect him? I am a very affectionate and passionate person who is capable of loving deeply and need someone who can appreciate and reciprocate that. I know how some of this must sound, but truth be told, I’m pretty easy going, perhaps even to a fault. I guess I've come to the conclusion that the reason I have not had success finding what I seek, is because I haven't been asking for exactly what I want. So, there it was.... LOL Living outside of a relationship the last few years, I’m discovering what I like and what I don’t, and realizing there are things that I may not want to compromise on at this point in my life. (Who knew?!) I guess it just took me a while to learn there are sometimes when it’s alright, or even necessary to take a stand for what you want or believe in. I believe that the right partner will accept, and even love you for that, because they respect and love you for ALL you are...they know your heart, and they love you being you.. It took me a while to learn that if you give all of yourself to someone or something, or even too many things, it is easy to lose your own identity. It is possible to become so lost, that one day you realize you have nothing left to give to the people around you who truly care about you and that you truly care about...and that should include yourself. I sometimes wonder if my passive nature was an unattractive quality that people might have mistaken for a lack of self respect...shoot maybe it was. In any case, at this point in my life I am a strong independent woman. I have grown into my own person, but I still make a pretty amazing partner. What I'm really looking for is my best friend, plain and simple. Thanks for reading and if you're still interested I look forward to hearing from you. WARNING: Internet dating has led me to cross paths with some pretty unsavory characters who have jeopardized my own life and integrity, so I have been forced to draw hard and fast lines.I respectfully request that anyone with a history of violence and/or serious criminal activity ( i.e. bank robbery, etc. ) please eliminate themselves from consideration at this point. Oh, and just to put it out there, for all of you who are sitting in your home offices or garages, pretending that you are interested in getting to know me, please know that I'm not here looking for a booty call, an NSA hook-up, dirty chatting or naked camming with you...no offense. I prefer to do something simple...something that makes it easy to get to know a person....coffee, dinner, or some kind of activity that leaves the opportunity for conversation, even if it's movies at home. A first date is always a great date if you have to start the DVD over 2 or 3 times because the conversation or the chemistry is soo good that you never actually watch the movie. ;-)

A few things I enjoy- Being outdoors, walks, good coffee, creative endeavors, interesting conversation, and humor. I like music and want to expand my horizons.......a few I have appreciated over time--..I am looking for someone who wants to take the time to get to know each other, as everything is a process. I feel I'm not very good at selling myself in a shiny package with a few words or meetings.... for me it's more of an unraveling process. I'd like to meet someone who has perhaps been through some struggles and has gained some understanding and compassion because of it. I just relate better with people who have had some challenges in life, but are trying to move forward. Anyway, a few characteristics I appreciate in people- layed back, courageous in some way, intelligent, health- Coffee or a walk sounds good to me......
