About Me

I am an educated, articulate, healthy, easy-going, fun--next-door. What I am looking for is someone who knows who he is and where he is going. Someone who is ready to get off this Merry-Go-Round of dating sites and find that one person they can't wait to talk to at the end of the day. I'm not terribly impressed by "things" but more interested to know if you are responsible with your time, talent and treasure. I'm looking for someone who says what he means and means what he says - I don't play games and I don't have a lot of patience for men who play them, either. I am happy with my life and am in a good place. I have a happy, healthy 9 year old daughter and a long-term, stable job that is my career. I am looking for someone who compliments my life, not someone to rescue me! I have no drama in my life and very little baggage (I know, hard to believe, but true).I have a very sarcastic, dry sense of humor and try to see the bright side of things. Life is too short to be grumpy :)Thanks for taking the time to read my profile! I look forward to hearing from you! Good luck and happy fishing! Something low-key that allows us to talk.

I'm an intelligent, kind-hearted, fun-loving person who seeks the same qualities in another. I would like to meet someone who has no initial expectations, but who is open to a long-term relationship. What that means is, I am looking for love, but I don't have an agenda. I have no interest in being in a relationship, simply to cure the loneliness. Being in a relationship that does not fulfill you emotionally and spiritually is possibly the loneliest place you can be. I hope to meet someone who is willing to go with the flow and see where things go naturally, but you should at least be open to the possibility that we might find something beautiful. Real chemistry and a true connection are very important to me, and it is essential that you value mutual respect and intimacy. Ideally, I would like to meet someone with the eyes of an artist, the soul of a poet (no pressure), and the tongue of a comedian...or at least a really good kisser. I realize that is a tall order and quite frankly I was only half-serious, so I am willing to compromise on everything except the good kisser part. Ha! I am the single mother of a teenager and my only child is currently in the process of leaving the nest. Though I hate having to let go, I am looking forward to a new beginning for myself and meeting someone new to share my life with. That said, however, I am looking for some specific qualities in a future partner. I’m looking for a man who treats his friends and family well, as I would like to be included in at least one of those categories...and you must be able to tolerate mine. :-p I would like to meet someone who compliments me (no, not verbally lol), rather than completes me. Someone who sees the brighter side of things and who will support & encourage me when I need it, but who knows when to have my back, or at least validate me, if I’m not having the greatest day. If a man has children, they need to be his priority even if it’s at my expense, or else how could I respect him? I am a very affectionate and passionate person who is capable of loving deeply and need someone who can appreciate and reciprocate that. I know how some of this must sound, but truth be told, I’m pretty easy going, perhaps even to a fault. I guess I've come to the conclusion that the reason I have not had success finding what I seek, is because I haven't been asking for exactly what I want. So, there it was.... LOL Living outside of a relationship the last few years, I’m discovering what I like and what I don’t, and realizing there are things that I may not want to compromise on at this point in my life. (Who knew?!) I guess it just took me a while to learn there are sometimes when it’s alright, or even necessary to take a stand for what you want or believe in. I believe that the right partner will accept, and even love you for that, because they respect and love you for ALL you are...they know your heart, and they love you being you.. It took me a while to learn that if you give all of yourself to someone or something, or even too many things, it is easy to lose your own identity. It is possible to become so lost, that one day you realize you have nothing left to give to the people around you who truly care about you and that you truly care about...and that should include yourself. I sometimes wonder if my passive nature was an unattractive quality that people might have mistaken for a lack of self respect...shoot maybe it was. In any case, at this point in my life I am a strong independent woman. I have grown into my own person, but I still make a pretty amazing partner. What I'm really looking for is my best friend, plain and simple. Thanks for reading and if you're still interested I look forward to hearing from you. WARNING: Internet dating has led me to cross paths with some pretty unsavory characters who have jeopardized my own life and integrity, so I have been forced to draw hard and fast lines.I respectfully request that anyone with a history of violence and/or serious criminal activity ( i.e. bank robbery, etc. ) please eliminate themselves from consideration at this point. Oh, and just to put it out there, for all of you who are sitting in your home offices or garages, pretending that you are interested in getting to know me, please know that I'm not here looking for a booty call, an NSA hook-up, dirty chatting or naked camming with you...no offense. I prefer to do something simple...something that makes it easy to get to know a person....coffee, dinner, or some kind of activity that leaves the opportunity for conversation, even if it's movies at home. A first date is always a great date if you have to start the DVD over 2 or 3 times because the conversation or the chemistry is soo good that you never actually watch the movie. ;-)

I love to go out and have a good time-watching sports, comedy clubs, trivia contests, dinner, drinks, bar games, movies, concerts, sight seeing,museums-anything fun! I also love staying home, taking care of people and entertaining. Making dinner for my man, watching TV,board games, sitting in front of the fire. I like having people over for parties and cooking. I've been playing golf since I was four but snow skiing is my passion, not that I get to go often. I love music-80's are awesome! Rock, heavy metal, old country,50's,60's,70's. Not a fan of current pop music or rap but love the older stuff especially the 80's. Pretty much all of it! I think lunch would be a great start. Then maybe some local sight seeing-museum,science center, zoo, brewey tour-low pressure. Putt putt would be fun or bowling possibly some pool or darts. I'm always up for new experiences!

I enjoy winding down on the weekends after a long work week. Typical weekend includes hanging out with friends, dinner, drinks, and swimming at the pool or lake in the summer. I enjoy hiking in the ATL area and would like to do more hiking in the North Ga mountains in the future. I grew up in ATL and enjoy all that the city has to offer. Fall is my favorite time of year with the cooler weather, college football, and beautiful foliage. I am looking for someone to share my life with and for companionship. I enjoy cooking and a nice bottle of wine, reading a good book, and traveling with that someone special to new places. Typically meeting for a drink or dinner is fine- love the outdoors and hiking would be a great first date if the weather is not too hot.
