I'm very outgoing and young-at-heart. Love to meet new people and learn new things. I have been lucky enough to have some incredible people in my life, but not lucky "in love", so I'm trying a new way to meet new people! I'm pretty comfortable in most situations, so anything that makes it possible to have good conversation.

I am officially an "empty-nester" now that both my daughters are out on their own. As someone who had kids before I could buy alcohol, it's a pretty strange feeling. It is nice to be able to nap when I want, not cook dinner if I don't feel like it, leave town with an hours notice, and it's relaxing to not have 10 places to be/ things to do at any given moment of the day. But it's also boring. Although my cats "talk" back to me, they don't make any sense at all - and my kids keep telling me I'll become a crazy cat lady if I don't stop. So I volunteer a lot, travel more, and actually spend time doing all the hobbies I've wished I had more time for all my life, but sometimes it would be nice to do some of those things with another person. Sometimes he finds the arrow, sometimes he gets distracted by the interesting scenery along the way. I find this to be a pretty accurate picture of life. What drives me is the excitement of the aim and the fascination of the journey. The goal is usually pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things. This being said, I can't sum up what I'm looking for in a word or two: I'm not opposed to a long term relationship, but that's not necessarily what I'm looking for. I'm also not looking for casual sex, I could find that in a grocery store. Somewhere in the middle sounds like a good target for now.I'd love to meet someone who is at least as adventurous as I am, who learns as well as teaches, and who can hold a conversation with some intelligence, integrity and wisdom and without bullshit. I am hard working, intelligent, and independent - endlessly curious and constantly learning. I'm a spontaneous free-thinker who isn't afraid to fight for what I believe in. Earn my trust, and I promise honesty, openness and adventure as we explore new places and ideas, As the saying goes; we'll have plenty of time to sleep when we're dead.Disclaimers- I hate being cold, I will try not to roast you out, and do my part by wearing layers and layers in the winter, but I can't make any promises about the temperature in the car. And sometimes in the winter, I turn up the thermostat before I take a shower so I don't freeze when I get out.- I do not eat things that live in water. I have tried them. I do not like lobster, oysters, fish (regardless how its cooked or which body of water it called home), clam, crab, or any other creature that doesn't have lungs.- I'm a godless liberal. I know how to avoid casual conversations that involve this topic when necessary, but if we're going to get to know each other in any real sense of the term, then you'd better be able to accept that. Now if you have a well thought out stance to the contrary, then I'll definitely listen. Some of the best conversations, certainly some of the most eye opening ones, are with people whose views are different from my own. But don't tell me Obama's a foreigner who wants to take away our guns and steal my parents medicare, without doing some research. - I hate roses. They are cliche, thorny, I don't like their fragrance, and I hate that "babys breath" crap all florists find necessary to stick with them. I'd trade a bushel of long stemmed roses for a small vase of daisies or lilies or any other flower on earth any day of the week. - I could sleep through a nuclear holocaust. If I say you can call me anytime, I mean it - because if I'm asleep, you are not going to wake me up with a phone call.- I swear like a sailor. Not like trailer trash. I have a filter, I hold a job, and don't turn off old ladies or scare small children with my mouth, but when I'm comfortable, I use language some might find offensive. I have no idea why, but some do.Turn Offs- Initial messages consisting of fewer than 3 sentences. If you can't invest any more thought into getting someones attention, I'll likely spend less time deleting your lame ass message. - Spelling and punctuation are helpful. Typos happen and grammer can be tricky. Not everyone uses a keyboard daily, I get that. But if your message is a 30 word run on sentence and half of it is spelled wrong, it's pretty likely not going to make much sense on the receiving end. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of free online spell checkers. If you want me or anyone else to understand what your saying, google one.- If you get a girl's cell number or ***, for the love of god, don't just start sending nude photos of yourself without being asked to. Its the equivalent of flashing- which most of us find very creepy.- Axe. That overpowering stench marketed to 30 something men who thinks it makes them irresistible to young, hot, drunk chicks. Maybe it does, but it does not make you irresistible to me. It makes me wonder if you're covering up the fact you didn't shower. - Do not post pics of you and your ex. Take one of yourself. Alone. This is a dating site, for christs sake. Not to mention its careless to post other peoples pics on the web without permission. If you absolutely have to, at least have the decency to hide her identity.- If your list of interests looks like this: "I like to do things outdoors, camping, going for walks, watching nascar or football, spending time with my kids/friends/pets, listening to music, and watching tv" and you are "laid back and looking for someone with similar interests" because you just got out of a bad relationship where you were ****ed over in some way and you're now looking for an honest, drama free woman, for friendship and maybe more - let the fact that I just described your profile without ever reading it sink in for awhile. And then tell me what makes you different. Anything outside, any place we can do something interesting, any situation that allows us to get to know each other. Some ideas that come to mind: Dinner on the patio at anyplace that's not a chain restaurant, the farmer's market, a carnival, a bar would be alright- if you're up for a game of darts.
