About Me

Favorite Music-I like all types but metal, hair bands and some country are my favorite. I enjoy nature and being outside. long walks, roller-blading, kayaking, white-water rafting, I like to be in or near the water. I like amusement parks, antiques and garage sales, coffee shops, regional market, live music venues, festivals, movies, horseback riding, camping and gardening. I enjoy the simple things in life like going for a ride in the country with some good music and the windows down and then going for ice cream or sitting on a dock watching the sunset. Sometimes I just like entertaining friends at home with a cookout. I try to eat healthy and therefore I cook quite a bit. I am continuing my education towards a Bachelors degree in Nursing. I have a black lab that is my closest companion, and I love our daily walks-(its good for both of us). I also enjoy volunteering as often as I can with various organizations. I just got my motorcycle license this past fall and hope to be riding before the end of the summer, as soon as I find a bike. I own my home and do a lot of DIY projects, I'd like to think I'm fairly handy and self-sufficient but by no means an expert. I am very independent and would choose to do things alone as opposed to being around people whose company I don't enjoy. I like people who know how to communicate and carry on a conversation but are comfortable enough with themselves to also have times of silence where we just enjoy being together. I would probably prefer a first meeting to be low-key like a coffee shop or park that allows for conversation. If we make a connection then we can go on a date but there's no point in one or both being obligated to sit through a long, awkward dinner with each other if you didn't hit it off to begin with.

    I usually resort to hypnosis, so this oughta be a bit tricky...I have spent the past while getting my grad degree and working my butt off. Now I can slow down a bit and find it isn't as fun to do this without a partner. I have great friends, but we hang out with their kids, not a great way to meet new people. Oh, there is work...with a bunch of kids, again not so great for this purpose!I am driven but find time for my friends and see the humour in most things. I have lived a lot of life, traveled and lived overseas, and can't wait to be introduced to more exciting things about the world. You will be sincere, have a great group of friends, are looking for something with depth, like to get out, and enjoy your career.So I recently went back to swimming in the mornings. I have been using it to work on Math with my students so I told them i started with 30 laps, then did 40 today, how many next. They said 50, then 60, then 70. I told them I'd slow down after 50, maybe halfway but couldn't so 55 because that would cause a problem for me. Anyone know why? "because you're getting so old?" ummmm...no. I CAN do it but why won't I? "Because you are so big?" eyeroll... "because you are not young and fast like us?" yeah, No!!! Finally i got the right answer but never thought it would be quite so painful. So anyways, not sure you can say anything wrong in comparison to my sweet k students!
