Hmmm, so this is awkward. Telling perfect strangers -- in a clever, original, confident, and engaging way -- about my sparkling personality, my heart's desires, my hopes, dreams, future plans, and my search for someone smart, funny, compassionate, ambitious, and handsome to complete me. In an attempt to be original, I'll skip the the meaningful quote by a famous thinker, withold my zodiac sign, refuse to sprinkle in foreign words, resist clichés, try not to try so hard, and jump right into the facts.Fact One: Acquaintances describe me as funny, intelligent, caring, and athletic. Fact Two: Good friends describe me as a very funny, very intelligent, very caring athlete. They add -- because they're good friends -- that I'm witty, genuine, generous of spirit, and loyal. Fact Three: I am somewhat of a homebody but I love to travel (and contradict myself.) I go around the country running marathons (and even half-Fact Four: I love my job as a counselor for adolescents and young adults - there's never a dull moment around teenagers. Or around me, for that matter. My work gives me a strong sense of purpose, a sense of societal contribution, and deep meaning, which is very important to me.Fact Five: During downtime, I enjoy exercising regularly, cooking healthy meals (most of the time), reading, and even just relaxing on the couch watching my favorite tv shows after a stressful day at work.Fact Six: The best dates for me include going out to eat, making great conversation, seeing a great movie, laughing with someone that's funny - I'm kind of an old soul. I like romance and enjoy a true gentleman, even though I'm a modern woman. I love when a man opens doors for me, sends me occasional flowers, surprises me with cards "just because." Modern but not.Fact Seven: I don't drink but don't mind a man who drinks socially and responsibly. Most types of music--except for death metal Gospel--are fine with me, but my favorite singer is definitely Stevie Nicks.- emotionally, physically, spiritually, and mentally - and I'm looking for someone who strives for the same. Exercise, healthy eating, adequate sleep, and overall well-being is important to me. Fact Nine: I'm looking for a man who is intelligent, ambitious, caring, accepting, faithful, and supportive. He must have a good sense of humor, can't take himself too seriously, can laugh at himself and even at me. Actually, not AT me. Maybe with me. Fact Ten: Here's the scary part, which is not for the faint of heart.
