Looking for: man. In age: 30-40

A year ago I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. Most people who hear that have said I must be pretty adventurous, athletic and a bit out of the box. That's me in a nutshell. I have a passion for sports. I played college softball, and have been on the soccer field since I was 5. I'm an avid skier who recently took up golf. Die- I also love to travel. I'd pick hiking Machu Picchu over a beach getaway (however, I do like to relax on a beach too!) My bucket list is forever growing. Over the past two years I've crossed off Dubai, Tanzania, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney. I've been to Africa twice, and I'm hoping to get back there again soon to gorilla trek. Vegas is my favorite spot domestically. The nightlife and restaurants keep drawing me back each year. I became a foodie after studying abroad in France. I love to try new restaurants in NYC and Philly. I've discovered how much I really like Belgian beers. And hands down, Shake Shack has the best burger I've ever had. Music is another big part of my life. I worked in the radio and record industries. I also spin in my spare time. I still love to check out new clubs, go to concerts and find remixes. I'd love to hang out with someone who shares my love for music and likes to bust a move once in a while.I'm really looking for someone who lives out of the box and is up for trying new things. I'd like to find someone who appreciates a work-life balance, but is still ambitious. I'm going back to get my MBA, so education is extremely important to me. A sense of humor is a must. I quote "Ted" and "Bridesmaids" on a regular basis. And someone who doesn't mind when I guess what the DJ is going to play next... My ideal first date would be grabbing a beer and watching - or going to - the game. Or if you have a competitive side, maybe a round of chip and putt.

I'm saying this in the first sentence in an attempt to save you the time of reading the profile or typing an *** be silly and tell me that you drive fast. I promise, I google half of the locations I read because I have no idea where they are. The distance restrictions is a simple one for this area, even if someone is willing to make the drive, it won't be long before they don't want to make it (understandably) and I simply don't have the time for traveling to see someone considering all of my other obligations. After taking a year off from dating, I'm going to force myself to "get back out there" although I'm not 100% sure that I want to be, so you're warned. :)I'm very honest, very blunt, and, from what I've been told, not like very many other women on here/around here (Is that a good thing?). I'm from the city, but I moved out to a semi-country area where I now have a small farm in addition to a full time job. I'm stubborn and hard headed and want to do things myself (fixing lawn mowers, cutting down trees, opening jars of jelly), but I have caught myself thinking how nice it would be to have someone that wants to help out or just do things with me (if only I would let them.)I like to laugh, but it has dawned on me that I have not laughed very much lately. In fact, the laughing I did at an episode of Impractical Jokers is the only time I can REMEMBER laughing in the past few weeks. I'm not ashamed to admit I need someone's help to break that streak. (See, there is the honesty coming out.) I'm honestly not thinking about a first "date". I'm willing to meet, in the whole public place thing, and get to know someone, but I don't want to do the "date" thing until I know someone at least enough to know I want to be on a date with them. I hope that made sense. Going about things this way is not something I've done before, but I figured I'd give it a try.

So, I'm cynically optimistic and thought I would give this a try! I've realized that I needed more balance in my life, especially when it came to relationships. I've spent the last couple years focused on building my career and what little time I had left I spent with family and friends. I'm settled for the time being-- I'm at a good place with my career, bought a house and rescued a dog (they both definitely keep me busy). I'm outgoing and confident, I have a type A personality and I'm a real people person--so good conversation is a must. I'm caring, but definitely can be sarcastic--I have to keep my dark humor in check. I'm pretty liberal, and not offended too easily--I get my news from the Daily Show and NPR. I'm somewhat of a foodie and definitely like trying new places and cuisines. I love being outside, and definitely look forward to enjoying the fall weather. Since I work longer days during the week I like to take the dog out for walking trails and hiking. I'm into going on road trips, going to flea markets, wineries, museums, or quirky places off the beaten path. I'm just as content staying home and watching movies-- I love the neighborhood I live in and like to be more active in community events. Music-wise I like "old" R&B, Hip Hop, Rap-- the new stuff is cheesy, I listen to pop and pretty much anything on the radio. I just have to put it out there that I have NO interest in WWE or NASCAR-- and I really don't think I could fake it. Otherwise I'm into sports--love football, basketball, baseball. So I'm looking to find someone with similar interests (but I'm open-minded, opposites do attract) likes to have fun, wants to be outside and is kind of handy (or at least willing to try)...and definitely good conversation. Simple things-- meeting for coffee, taking the dog for a hike...or something totally different-- I once had a first date to feed the ducks at the museum, simple and creative.
