Among the identities I’ve worn and enjoyed are journalist, Congressional policy aide, and teacher. Being "mom" has been my most cherished role, and though that work is largely done, the pleasure of independent adult sons remains.For me, one kind of perfect day is a hike during the river roar of snowmelt just as tender lilies shoot up through the last glints of winter. I carry paper scraps and scribble notes for stories and poems. Then they go through the wash forgotten in my pockets but somehow, I remember key words. And pictures are indeed worth a thousand, so I *** clouds above tree line and between ridges. Share with me what brings awe to your life. I seek a co-conspirator for adventures, romance, comedy and laughter, delight, and trying on ideas. We all have tall wish lists. A few on mine: I want you to be smart, passionate, emotionally available, adventurous, kind, interested in personal growth, physically fit, and able to see the humor in life. Ideally, we are both lifelong learners. But not perfect ;-)I'm really looking for a best friend with whom I share playful, intellectual, physical and emotional chemistry. In my thinking, best friends do things together--apart, and sometimes separate things side by side. Though I can and do wear velvet gowns and enjoy a dressy night out--see photos, I'm most comfy in denim. I’m a passionate explorer and am hoping to meet someone with passions and experiences both similar and different than mine. There are many places and things I’ve yet to experience. For example, I'd enjoy learning to snowboard or ski. I am comforted standing next to glaciers that make me feel small. If you lose me on the trail, chances are I’ve found the perfect womb in an ancient tree to nest in.If you have a kayak or canoe, bonus points. If you can reteach me to flyfish or might learn with me, more bonus points. I adore being read to. Semi-sweet chocolate or a hand-picked bouquet will delight me. I love the city, too--plays, music, comedy, fine dining, etc. Yet if I had to choose between mountains and skyscrapers, I'd stop in the city on the way to or from the peaks. I can live in either the wilds or the city, and like to be reasonably close to both. Travel is a must here and there--that's part of the experience v. stuff.Being playful brings balance as I make my living with my head. Of course, all the usual apply. I cry at movies where the dog grows old and dies. You’ll find me enjoying all varieties of film, and I’m not above renting children’s movies that make me laugh. History fascinates me. I can root for the Seahawks win or lose. Good thing, huh?I’m very much a grown-up and still like stuffed animals that squeak. Though I'd love it if you lived next door already, I cannot be flexible on those four "chemistry" qualities, so I'm open to a wee bit of distance, as my work and life have some flexibility.--depends on cards in the next hand.I wish you the best.     I am 52 yrs old. I have been divorced since Feb of ***. I am a Christian. I love Christian contemporary music, praise and worship music. That is what I listen to the most. I do like some country songs, as long as it's not about forbidden love, the dog running away or tears in beers.. I am raising my 10 yr old cousin and have been since he was just 3 yrs old. He has a few emotional issues, I also have my 3 yr old grand daughter for now. I love to read and to write also. If you look at my face, you will be able to see "bumps"on my face. This is from a disorder called Neurofibromatosis. Google it; easier than me trying to explain. It causes "bumps" on my face, called neurofibromas. I have them over good portion of my body. I'm not scary looking, nor am I ugly, but it causes some folks discomfort. Does not affect my "loving" at all.Again, I am a Christian and I am looking for a man who is a like mind. Church attendance is important to me. When I lost my husband, I lost my "pastor" also... Yep he was a pastor. For a short time, I was mad with God, but thanks to my mom's prayers and countless friends prayers, I have come to my senses and know that God has that special man that will love me and worship God with me.. He's out there.. I just gotta be still and listen for God's voice.... Man!! is it hard to just WAIT.... I hate waiting.. But God will hold true to His promise..
