My biggest goal in life is to be happy. There are many things that make me happy: traveling to experience new places and cultures, camping to get away from the overcharged city life, yoga, running, gardening to discover the connection between humans and the food we eat, and reading to live more lives than just this one. I know that sounds a little new-age hippie, but I am actually down to earth.In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends. Although we have been known to throw some great parties, for the most part we keep things low key with a weekend in Tahoe, hiking, or kicking back listening to music. At heart, I'm a classic rock chick; I was raised on the Doors, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Styx, etc. However, more recently I've been getting into bluegrass (new grass/slam grass) and country. I had a punk rock phase too, and still follow a few of those groups, but the teenage angst has subsided. I can blend in equally well to a variety of situations and places around the world. In the past, I've dated guys who are either into the outdoors, or city slickers. Ideally, I would like to meet a guy who can handle himself in the woods for a weekend and would also enjoy going to some sort of a show (concert, comedy, theater) in the city. If you are spontaneous that is a big plus. Okay, now that you made it this far in the profile, a few of my weaknesses. I'm afraid of heights and still sometimes think that there are monsters under my bed. I don't like using disposable cups, so I usually have a water bottle and coffee mug on hand! For the most part, I consider myself open to trying new things. Recently I've taken up swimming lessons, obtained my blue belt in Taekwondo, knitted a scarf and gotten involved with Mad Men (I know, like five years late. I try hard to two step, but sometimes coordination evades me.Sitting still is hard, thus the knitting, but walks along Standley Lake, a gripping action movie, and a strong cup of coffee all are quick ways to my heart. On weekends I like to head to Bandimere to watch my Dad drag race his Victory Hammer. One day I hope to have the courage to race my Element...An important part of my life is my relationship with God, and showing others His love. I believe Jesus came to free us, not to condemn us, and that fills me with real hope and gratitude. Each day is full of the Lord's mercy and grace if we are just willing to see it. Last, I'm looking for someone with their head on straight. Someone confident in their worth, and a complement to my own strength. Someone with a relationship with God. Someone up for an adventure or getting into mischief together. Someone to be a best friend. And I'm a bit old fashioned: I expect to be asked out, respected, and cherished. Count me in. Going out to a concert with a thousand people? Not so much. Bowling, mini golf, karaoke, card games, anything cheesy, let's do it!
