About Me

I'm Christian, specifically Church of Christ (nondenominational). My beliefs are important to me, but I keep an open mind and like meeting people who are different from me. That being said, I see myself ending up with someone who shares similar beliefs and interests. but having their own individuality, strength and flaws. I can be a little shy around people I don't know. Definitely not an extrovert :). I've struggled with my weight my whole life, varying in size. I am currently making effort to live a healthier lifestyle. I attended SIUC, majoring in Music Business. I pursued a career in it for awhile, but ended up working in the nonprofit sector. Marketing is my favorite part of work, but my main function is financial. Sometime I think about going back to school to study accounting. I love rock music. Music has to have a deeper meaning for me most of the time. Poetry is what I love most about music. I read a lot. Favorite books include Pride and Prejudice, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and Hunger Games trilogies, Their Eyes Were Watching God and Memoirs of a Geisha. I tend to gravitate toward music and books featuring women of strength and that make me think. I appreciate art and like going to museums and concerts.I believe successful relationships are about open communication and respect. Getting to know each other is the best part. I work long hours sometimes, and do value some time to myself.I'm looking for someone who is intellectual, loves to learn, funny, and has an open mind, is kind, and thoughtful. Someone who enjoys the same kinds of music and movies as I do. Someone who I can connect and have long conversations with.

    First and foremost, I am the mother of two extraordinary kids. I love my job even though there are some days when I'm covered in vomit and other bodily fluids, that I wonder why I didn't pursue a career as a Walmart greeter. I love all kinds of music but I drift more towards alternative/rock and try to stay away from country. I am always down to go see live music. I'm a huge animal lover, so if your profile picture is of you holding up a carcass that you killed by sitting in a tree waiting for it to innocently feed upon the food you so carefully placed, then keep on stepping. I'm not totally against hunting because of population control, but I do not consider sitting on your ass in a tree a sport. But with that being said, I do love to fish :) And lastly, I am very playful so if you are overly sensitive and tend to get butt hurt easily, then I don't think we will click.

    Well, like anyone, I am hoping to find love. :)Personally, I believe I am a fairly well rounded person. I'm intelligent and can carry on a good conversation, but I also have a sarcastic sense of humor and I find some of the dumbest things absolutely hilarious. :) I am trustworthy, honest, and very caring and I'm definitely looking for those traits in someone. Also, good communication is a MUST. I am pretty open with my thoughts and feelings and I would like someone who is not afraid to open up to me. But at the same time, I'm not looking for someone who is over the top emotional or unstable. Just a level-headed person who is capable of communicating effectively and reasonably.. Also, I'm the type to try and resolve conflict as quickly as possible.. I don't run away from problems, but rather face them and try to fix them. I really don't like conflict... I much prefer being peaceful & happy, so I will try to get back to that state as quickly as possible. I am hoping to find someone with similar characteristics. I am also looking for someone who is capable of being both spontaneous and also relaxed! I love the feeling of adventure but I can also appreciate a quiet night at home. I guess you could say i'm about 50% adventurer & 50% homebody. Also, I'm not a big partier, nor a big drinker, so you will rarely find me at the bars. I find many, many other things much more enjoyable than hanging out in a bar, however, I'm not opposed to meeting up with a few friends for a couple of drinks every once in a while. I REALLY enjoy being outdoors doing all sorts of things such as hiking, bike riding, horseback riding, fishing, taking pictures, or just exploring. In addition to all of that, I am also a HUGE sports fan!!. Honestly though, I'll watch just about any sport and enjoy it. :) Well, I'm hoping to find someone special, so hopefully this works! For a first date, I would probably choose something low key & quiet so we can get to know each other. However, I have done energetic things like sporting events for a first date, and it was fun! It just depends on the person. But I would be more likely to suggest something like dinner & ice cream or walking around a quaint downtown just talking & exploring as a first date.
