About Me

A little about me...I'm 55 and the single parent of two grown children. I was so busy raising them and building my career that I really didn't take time out to date. Now that I'm an empty nester, I'm lookiing forward to moving on to the next stage in my life. I truly am looking for a life partner, even though at times it is a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack.Traveling for pleasure is something that I very much enjoy - primarily to warm locations. I would love to further explore the Caribbean, as well as finally take that cruise I've been dreaming of. Exploring Europe is also on my bucket list.I can be a couch potato, Cuddling up next to you and watching the latest OSU game or a good television show is a great way to relax.I do have a bit of an adventurous streak though! I've been skydiving, hot air ballooning, parasailing and ziplining. I love to snorkel, and am interested in learning to scuba dive.I believe that relationships take time to grow and flourish. I will have great respect for you if you understand that I would like to establish a degree of mental intimacy before seeking physical intimacy.Family is important to me. I have a great relationship with my kids and grandkids, and see them often. I'm also very close to my parents. Should you and I decide that we are a match, I would welcome your family as well.; however, I would love to find more time to spend at the beach. However, what I lack in the cooking department, I more than make up for in the nurturing department.My job requires a good bit of overnight travel during the week, but I am almost always home on Fridays and the weekend.     I like to think I'm a good listener or at least I try very hard to be. I like to read body language. I also try very hard not to judge because it will only come back to me in form of bad karma or close me off to the possibility of knowing someone deeply. I like to sew and design things (wall hangings, quilts, tools, clothes) and build or repair things. I don't like hanging out in the sun. I love the ocean and camping. I don't cook but am a fan of those who do. I like working out at the gym. I used to be a Civil War reenactor, thinking about maybe getting involved with it again. I like wearing frilly clothes. I've been told by others that I'm weird (don't know what that means) but it's always (I mean always) said with a smile and great fondness. I like watching baseball/football but only with others. I'm pretty comfortable in my own skin. I can stay calm under pressure (at least look like it on the outside).I would like to hear about you.Update: The nose comment on my photo was meant to show off my nose in a very proud way.......I'm so surprised at how many of you guys think I don't like my nose (eye-ka-rumba). But just the same, thank you all for feeling the need to reassure me that my nose is ok......very thoughtful. I like men who are assertive and comfortable in their own skin. It's hard to write what I think is an ideal first date because I like things to be spontaneous....what can be written about that.....takes the surprise out don't you think?
