A little about myself, I am divorced for over 4 years now, was married for 28 years ( yes, 28 years) have four grown children. All of which are independent and adults except for my youngest daughter who is almost 18. She finishes HS this year. I'm just waiting until my daughter graduates. So if you do not like the idea of traveling in order to date or get to know me then please just pass me up because I do not want it to be an issue.I am not looking for a one night stand nor a friends with benefits kind of relationship. If that is what you are looking for then please do not even talk to me! I prefer a man of integrity and class who has some old fashioned morals and believes in dating and getting to know one another with respect for one another. Call me old fashioned but I think it is an important part of a healthy relationship.If its important you have a woman in great shape then again pass me up...What can I say except that I am not 25 but 53, had 4 children and am overweight. So if that is a problem for you please spare me the drama and pressure of trying to be what I am not and what you want me to be. Is my health important to me? Absolutely! And I like most people my age do struggle with my weight but I take my health seriously and am always working on bettering myself. I work in the beauty industry, I have to look good but I am far from perfect!I love music, reading, walks, especially near a lake. I put God first in my life, then family and relationships next. I strive to grow and learn all the time and look to surround myself with those who do the same. I am very social and love people and kids, like to be busy and feel productive but also enjoy and appreciate a quiet night watching a movie.I am not one of those kind of people who like to be alone and need their space by not being able to commit. I prefer sharing my life with people and miss having a partner but I also understand that no man can satisfy my every need and always make me happy. I am generally a happy, positive person and find contentment in my life through my relationship with God and a balance in my life doing what I enjoy and what is important to me.I believe respect and love are the two most important things I can give a man and I desire a man who has a passion to grow spiritually while seeking a closer walk with God. I also believe that prayer between a couple is the glue. NO, I did not write what i have posted below this but if I had to express what I think is a happy healthy picture of a relationship and what I want, this would be it.......“Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colors seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby. Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile.     It's funny what time does; they say time is an illusion and that may be true; but one thing I have learned with the passage of time is that it's better to let things be rather than try to control their outcome.As one of my favorite writers says; "Life is the dancer and we are the dance". So we are to let life dance through us and be O.K. with whatever is.O.K.; enough rambling. I am on here because I would like more companionship in my life. I like men who are intelligent and who can converse and who are happy with who they are. I am not a high maintainance woman although I do appreciate the finer things in life. But my classification of finer things may include sunset walks, watching birds soar, watching a football game at home; doesn't take a lot to have a good time. I would like to travel again; have been home more in the last several years because I have two dogs; a dog lover is a must for me! In due time I suppose...I think it's best to form friendships first; my Dad used to say that if you can count the number of true friends you have on the fingers of one hand, consider yourself lucky. If a connection is made through friendship, so be it. If not, you have a new friend!Just a note: I have experienced passion in my life and I realize it is not easy to find the ultimate connection I have experienced in the past easily. It's one of those things I think; you know it almost immediately when you've found it. And it is incomparable to anything else; so I for one, will not settle for anything less. A beach walk or meeting over coffee someplace where we can converse and get to know each other to see if there is a connection. Alternatively, we can go hangliding together and take it from there :)
