About Me

Seeing as how these are all fictional characters, I'm guessing my chances are slim to none that such a woman exists. Now, this certainly doesn't mean you have to be able to bring home wild game or cast a really good patronus spell, but I would like someone for whom the terms honesty, intregrity, and loyalty aren't just abstract words in a dictionary. Speaking of which, spelling and grammar do count here to some extent. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect some degree of high school literacy. I'm not really sure how to begin describing myself because there's so much pressure to capture yourself as a living, breathing human being in such a small space. I guess I'll start by talking about my job. I count myself lucky because I truly do love my job, and I have the conviction of knowing I made the right decision in college to go into education. Sure, there are days when it's trying, but most of the time I feel like I make a positive impact on the world, and if you have a job where you do too, that's a big bonus in my book. I tend to have a few close knit friends rather than a large circle of acquantainces. I have a group of girls I've been friends with for years, and we try to do a girls night each month that involves games, gossip, and a lot of wine. I've been described as "fiercly loyal" and I'd do just about anything for the people I love. As we get older, I find that it's harder to make meaningful social connections as our friends pair up and get married and move on, so even if it turns out that we aren't compatible in a romantic capacity, I would be open to pursuing friendship. In addition to my close group of friends, I consider myself fairly family oriented. My mom is probably the sweetest person alive, and I don't think I've ever heard her say a bad word about anyone.     There should be something in between "I want a relationship" and "I want to date but nothing serious", if that was a choice I'd choose it...That said, I think I'm a pretty normal person. I like to cook, and watch movies, and read books. I love sports, both watching and playing. I LOVE nature (totally obsessed with the moon) and animals. I have a cat and a snake, and I have been patiently waiting for "dog time" for years. I love to travel, and I want to go everywhere. I spent two months in West Africa last fall, and it was an amazing experience. All of the adjectives and emotions. Right now I'm in a full time surgical tech program. It's super intense, and TONS of work, but I'm doing well and really enjoying it (even if I'll never be not exhausted again!) I like to think of myself as a conscious mind, I mean I strive to be on a daily basis. If you've read any of Eckart Tolle's books you might have a better idea of what I mean. Family is extremely important to me, and that includes my good friends. I'm lucky enough to have a great group of them. As for music, it's a huge part of my life. I love it. I like pretty much everything that is well-done. I'm not really into country though. And most of the pop culture stuff doesn't really do it for me either. Unless I'm at a club of course, but that's a rare occurrence these years! I live with musicians, so that may very well have made me a slight music snob! I'm pretty much an open book, so if you have any questions go ahead and ask away. First date... like, describe a date? I like things to happen naturally, so, I guess just meeting up somewhere (maybe outdoors would be nice if the weather allows), hanging out, and seeing what comes of it?
