I am an outgoing girl with a good blend of tradtional and modern values. I love to laugh and to make others laugh, too. My friends say I rarely meet a stranger and I have to agree!I am confident, optimistic, sincere and loyal and hope to find the same. Honesty and communication are important pieces of building any type of relationship and I will not settle for less. I believe any type of relationship starts with a strong friendship. I cannot see myself being with a man if I find any level of dishonesty. No matter how we may click, if you can't be honest, we cannot build a relationship.I am independent but far from being a feminist. I love dining at nice restaurants and dancing but also enjoy cuddling by the fire with a glass or wine or mug of hot chocolate. Timeless books and movies that make you wonder for days about whose side you are on put great flavor into many of my evenings. I travel frequently...more for business than pleasure...am always up for an adventure. I am hoping to travel more for pleasure in ***!I have started hiking frequently and enjoy going to Umstead Park or to the mountains for hiking and camping. I also enjoy salt water fishing and would like to try freshwater fishing at some point. I've toyed with the idea of learning archery, but not sure what would be involved and where I would go to practice.I have been described as multi-faceted, as I can fit into most any situation and always make to most of it. I enjoy trying new things and will try almost anything once...more if it's something I find I enjoy. I also enjoy pro football, though I can't say I have a favorite team. I always try to root for the home team...it's just been hard to do that for the Panthers lately!I am looking for a man that is honest and communicates openly without holding back. Someone that will listen to me as I share my day and will in turn share his day's adventures. I want to find someone that I can express my feelings and my dreams no matter how silly they may sound. Someone to laugh with, to share the good and the bad. I'm looking for my best friend. I believe dinner or drinks is always a good first date.     I am the mother of two sons, living with two dogs and a rescue dog. :) My sons are in college (living with me).-Rottie mix (4 year old) and a white American Bulldog ***years old foster dog). They are all rescues. I am an animal lover (obviously) and desire someone who is the same. I am financially and emotionally secure, and like my job. I have a positive outlook on life and believe that no problem is too big to solve. I can complete small home repairs and like to think I'm handy around the house. I try to live in a drama-free zone and enjoy it. I have a few hobbies, which include making stained glass panels, gardening in the summer, making baby blankets for the pregnant women at work, and I like to read. Active to me is a walk, bicycle ride, attending a festival, seeing a movie, going to a comedy show or rock or jazz concert, taking my dogs for a walk...anything that involves getting out, meeting new people, and having a good conversation. :) I don't sky dive, bungee jump, or ride roller coasters. :)I believe that in order for a relationship to be successful, the two people must embrace each other just as they are. We all have faults. But the trick is to be able to accept the person just as he/she is, faults and all. I'm not looking to change anyone or smother anyone, and I'm not looking for anyone to change me. If there is a laundry list of things you don't like about me, I'm not the woman for you and the same holds true for me about you. I don't smoke and I am not looking to date a smoker, trying to quit, occasional, or constant. (No offense, but I'm a former smoker and I think I'm true to that old adage...former smokers make the most intolerant nonsmokers.) I eat a fairly healthy diet. I'm looking for a confident man who is generally happy with his life. I would love a strong shoulder to rest my head upon occasionally. I'm looking for the man that will make me yearn for him and miss him as soon as we part. I'm looking to date someone steadily to see if it can deepen and develop into something special and magical.
