I'm fun loving and friendly, my kids are out of the house and now I'm looking to have some adult time. I love to travel, take day trips and stop at quaint little shops along the way. I love the Ocean and the Mountains. I enjoy reading autobiographies, historically based writings, National Geographic magazine, and anything else that may catch my interest. Knitting and crafting are cathartic. When I go out with friends we often end up at Karaoke shows...what fun! I work as a Nurse at a Assisted living facility in the Fan District I enjoy my job and feel blessed to work with wonderful elder people each day. It is hard work but always rewarding.! I feel that what we do with our lives should make a difference, and we should give as much as we take. I enjoy lots of different movies, most types of music, although I usually run the other way when Hip Hop or Rap is played! Jazz, Blues, Classic Rock, Country are my favorites. A first date could be meeting for dinner and talking, laughing and enjoying each others company. Hopefully finding out that we have common interests and passions. Perhaps an after dinner walk with continued conversation, and of course a wonderful goodnite kiss..!

Someone who can laugh at themselves - I don't think anyone should take themselves too seriously.I'm a pretty happy person. That doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It just means that I've decided to look beyond the imperfections. We all have things for which to be grateful. I don't need someone to "complete" me. I look at it as icing on the cake. I'm a huge Bears fan, I prefer a pub to a club, my political views lean more towards the liberal crowd. I like lots of different music, except for rap and really really heavy headbanging metal. I believe everyone should go to a Jimmy Buffett concert at least once, if not more. It's as much fun as a person can have without breaking any laws. Fins up!!! I look forward to finding someone to slow dance with.....I haven't done that in ages. It would be nice. Addendum: Just to save time, I'll add here that I prefer dating non-smokers (kind of a big thing with me). I'm not being b*tchy, just being honest. I prefer meeting single men. I'd rather have my own to play with, not someone else's. Thanks for respecting my wishes. =).If you're looking for someone to accompany you to church, I'm probably not your girl. Yes I was raised Catholic but I don't attend church anymore. I lean more towards good karma rather than misguided dogma. I believe there is more than one road to the Divine. I haven't had good luck dating people who aren't fairly "local" (actually I haven't had good luck dating at all!! lol) so I tend to avoid that frustration now. when I get these "so and so" wants to meet you, I take it with a grain of salt, someone saying they like my picture. I usually don't respond unless someone actually writes to me. Just an FYI. by the way, I've been transitioning to a more plant based diet. so I won't be going for a steak or a burger on a date. He's my best friend and we walk all the time on the bike path!! He gets me off the couch just like a best friend would do. She died a couple of years ago. but thanks for your interest! Rent the DVD if you want to experience an "older woman". The Graduate is a great movie!POF made me choose a word to describe my personality. I chose hippy but I think it's supposed to be hippie, lol, like... peace signs, getting back to nature, etc. oh well. And, I'm actually 58. I hate that they required me to "post my intention, i.e. dating or relationship, etc. If you put "dating" it makes you look like a serial dater. if you put "relationship" it makes you look like you're hunting for a spouse. I'm doing neither of those. It would be nice if I meet someone nice but I don't have high hopes. I haven't even been meeting or dating in a while. I have some things that I'm trying to improve about myself. I've worked 12 hour night shifts for the past 5 years and I've put on a few pounds that I'm not happy about so I'm trying to get them off. But then again.... if someone doesn't want me at my worst, they sure as h*ll don't deserve me at my best. ; )
