About Me

I'm Desiree. I'm 24 and am currently a student at VCU. I hope to have my Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with a CSI concentration this May! I work as a full time front desk associate for a Marriott hotel, and I love my job because I get to meet new and interesting people everyday. I don't really have any hobbies because I work full time and go to school part time, so there's not much time for extra activities. But things that interest me include:Swimming/the beach...I LOVE being near the water!Pottery making...I haven't attempted this yet, but hope to soon.Movies...ShoppingAnimals...one day I'll be a volunteer at the SPCA and will bring home some kitties and puppies of my own!Dancing...I can dance anytime, anywhere, and I'm quite a good dancer :) Education...is VERY important to me. I've put myself through school and will be the first child in my family with a Bachelor's degree.I'm honestly game for any adventure as long as it doesn't involve heights (because I'm scared of heights) and isn't illegal lol. Some interesting facts about me include...I love the color pink in pretty much all forms.I love anything that glitters.The only thing I'm OCD about is how my closet is organized.I'm a girly girl but not a diva.I'm a hopeless romantic, although I think I'm really bad at facilitating any type of romance.My favorite genre of movies is comedy.I have 1 older brother and sister and 1 younger brother and sister.I have 2 nieces and 2 nephews.I was a nanny for about a year.I have 3 tattoos and am currently concocting my fourth. It will probably be a tribute to my grandmother. I LOVE TATTOOS.Now onto the deep stuff...I'm not looking for a fling or one night stand. I'm at the point in life where I'm looking to settle down in the near future. I've learned from rushing into past relationships that it is better to ease into them slowly, so I'm looking for a girl whom I can call a friend first, then perhaps my girlfriend and progress from there. I believe that a great friendship forms the basis of a great relationship; you can't be in a relationship with someone you couldn't call a friend. When it comes to dating, I don't usually date femmes because it throws of the dynamic to me, and I tend to be more attracted to masculine women because I am quite girly myself. To alleviate the pressure on either party involved, the date should be casual. Most people go with dinner and a movie, but I would go with dinner and coffee, or dinner and a board game...something that allows us to get to know one another better. I love movies, but you can't get to know someone when you're watching a movie lol.
