I like outdoor activities. Horseback riding, surfing, walking the dog, jogging, kayaking, snow skiing, biking, golf, the local rock climbing gym etc.. I have many attributes, but one that is most appreciated is that I'm a very good listener, but usually with witty input.Looking for someone extraordinary within the ordinary moments in life. Just an update. The horse thing is fairly recent, and mostly for the nieces. I do ride bareback casually from time to time when the weather is nice. You might think that I'm a little bit country, but just a bit if you met me. I enjoy most types of music, sans let's say Celine Dion, and most rap. I do some creative writing, mostly short stories, and am an avid reader-just finished ";, Cormac Mccarthy-.-or basically the Franciacorta region north of there with the beautiful lakes-, and visit them for a few weeks, for the fourth time... Really looking forward to it!!! It actually turned into most of July, and was amazing!!That's enough about me. I'm not too much of a me, me , me person. I want to know about you, Like I said I'm a good listener. I don't really have a type, but one thing is for sure I need a partner to have the ability to be laid back. I don't do well with what I call the "analyst" type, looking and listening for a problem in every situation or conversation. Just makes me uptight, which is not the norm.Well... Hi there, and thanks for checking this out!) and am beginning to think about what comes next, but from a creative, rather than reactionary, stance. I would like to find a woman who is interested in spending time together, getting to know each other, with the intent of moving towards a relationship, although I am taking this process slowly.I am a scientist by profession, a philosopher by nature, a very creative thinker, a subtle artist, an effective teacher, and a great conversationalist.I spend a lot of my time reading, thinking and writing. I enjoy good film (classic film, sci-fi, biopic, historical fiction, etc.), good music (very ecclectic... everything is cool except pop country and heavy metal), I work as a theatrical and concert lighting designer in my spare time (it's the other brain hemisphere manifestation of my love for all things light!), and I mostly enjoy good company and good, deep thinking conversation.I am basically a positive, progressive, loving person who can take almost any punch the world throws at me... like the energizer bunny. I am non-religious, believe that this is our only life, and therefore have no choice but to move on through whatever happens with a positive attitude. Everything in my life, no matter how obscure or bizarre, has always led to a better reality over time. That is what keeps me moving forward. And, unlike Hobbits, I LOVE a good adventure... I am a great cook, so my first date would be a good meal with good wine, perhaps under the stars. I really enjoy meeting new personalities, and for me a lot of attraction is intelligence. Dinner and a comfortable environment is the perfect setting to begin to learn about someone. And to find out whether we can keep up with each other...
