Ok, so I know I'm supposed to talk about my hobbies, taste in music, blah, blah... so here they are, I love to work with my hands and mind. A real problem solver that can fix anything. I like a wide variety of music. There! Now let me tell you about ME. I was raised in a small town, by parents that were married for 35 years. I answered their questions with "no sir" or "yes sir". My mother taught me how to be respectful to women, the elderly and people in general. I still open my partner's car door and pull out their chair in a restaurant. (even though these gestures are frowned upon by many of my dates as "old fashioned" and embarrassing). I am just as comfortable in a suit and tie, dining with executives, as I am in jeans and a tee shirt, barbecuing. I LOVE family! The whole of it...teaching children, learning from parents, listening to the stories of grandparents, sneaking up behind my partner to swipe a fresh baked cookie as she's pulling them from the oven, yes, the whole of it! I realize all of this probably sounds a bit old fashion and out of date in this world of fast food and high speed internet. And I'm sure many of you have stopped reading already. I probably sound like a backward country bumpkin. LOL. But my father taught me the values of hard work, honesty and integrity. I am not hard to make happy and I try hard to make my partner happy. So, ladies, there I am.. Not your normal "cookie cutter" profile, but an honest one. I'm here seeking to write my own Notebook with someone that will help me fill the pages with smiles, zest, passion, romance, sweat, yelling, arguments, make ups, cuddling and holding hands. I always figured it is easier to get to know someone while walking and talking. Rather than sitting across a table at a noisy diner. But I'm also open to suggestions!

Well what can be said, really, that would influence the outcome of an actual meeting? Do you really want to know that I love to run and I like books and theatre; does it really help us to assess each others' personalities to know how our energies are particularly engaged? It is nice I suppose to have a little space to scrawl some thoughts, and if they are witty or humourous a reader may feel their time has not been utterly wasted on the effort. But if the adage is true, that a picture is worth a thousand words, then photos in this section are probably a more efficacious use of the available real estate. Although some writing is obligatory to determine literacy and grammatical competence, which undoubtedly are important predictors of compatibility.I would only like to say about myself that through travels in the Arab and African worlds, which I've undertaken over the preceding decade, my interests have burgeoned in a surprising way, although not in a way completely incompatible with my personal strengths. Through contact with individuals in other parts of the world - indeed, very ancient parts of the world - I have sustained a "cultural shift". I used to love to write computer code, now I love to write verse, and I feel it fits very well with my temperament, background, and talents; so, goodbye maths (and good riddance), hello letters!Goodbye loneliness, hello ... you?
