Ok, so I know I'm supposed to talk about my hobbies, taste in music, blah, blah... so here they are, I love to work with my hands and mind. A real problem solver that can fix anything. I like a wide variety of music. There! Now let me tell you about ME. I was raised in a small town, by parents that were married for 35 years. I answered their questions with "no sir" or "yes sir". My mother taught me how to be respectful to women, the elderly and people in general. I still open my partner's car door and pull out their chair in a restaurant. (even though these gestures are frowned upon by many of my dates as "old fashioned" and embarrassing). I am just as comfortable in a suit and tie, dining with executives, as I am in jeans and a tee shirt, barbecuing. I LOVE family! The whole of it...teaching children, learning from parents, listening to the stories of grandparents, sneaking up behind my partner to swipe a fresh baked cookie as she's pulling them from the oven, yes, the whole of it! I realize all of this probably sounds a bit old fashion and out of date in this world of fast food and high speed internet. And I'm sure many of you have stopped reading already. I probably sound like a backward country bumpkin. LOL. But my father taught me the values of hard work, honesty and integrity. I am not hard to make happy and I try hard to make my partner happy. So, ladies, there I am.. Not your normal "cookie cutter" profile, but an honest one. I'm here seeking to write my own Notebook with someone that will help me fill the pages with smiles, zest, passion, romance, sweat, yelling, arguments, make ups, cuddling and holding hands. I love to build furniture or fix things in my spare time. I am in the telecommunications field and have been all my adult life so I get to build and play with expensive toys for a living. (I build the stuff that make your phone and internet work and I'm damn good at it). My motto is if I can't fix it I'll build ya a better one:) I am currently working on my education going back to school to upgrade my skills. I am into any kinds of music, mainly rock and country. I don't really how to best describe myself, but I will do my best. Well let’s see? I started this online singles search about a year ago and the one thing that I have learned for sure is that love takes time, friendship, and compassion. And hey if it doesn’t work out, well people should still at least be friends. I guess the key is we get what we put into it. I mean really, how well will people get to know each other if all is simply assumed by an online profile or text messages. For the most part I am very goal orientated, live a stable life, and have a side of me that loves to travel. I don't drink and am able to have a great time without the use of alcohol or drugs. I don't have a problem with people who like to have a drink or the 420, it’s just that I choose not to. I will however, out of respect for my own piece of mind, draw the line when things start to appear dysfunctional. I love a good story and am a storyteller by nature or heritage (haven't quite figured that one out yet), some true, some not so true, yet all very entertaining. Oh yea those that lack a sense of humor probable won’t get along well with me either.Any how’s, enough about me....... First dates can always feel a little awkward for me. I might have a little bit of a shy side I imagine, though I usually get passed it fairly quick. I think a first date might consist of a good cup of coffee, some conversation and maybe a walk in the park. Just that time to see if theres a connection and see where it goes. At the very lest, I would hope to have made a new friend (references as a loyal friend available upon request).
