    Hello, I am a single dad raising a daughter by myself. I have been divorced for 5 years. I am 49yrs., 6'5", 240lbs.I basically put my social/private life on hold so that I could concentrate on raising my daughter and give her all my attention. Now that she has graduated high school and is moving into the next phase of her life she just isn't home as much anymore so I think it is about time that I do the same. I work at a major oil/chemical refinery in their engineering department as a pipe designer. I have been in the engineering design profession for 30 years now and I still love what I do very much. I try to stay as active as I can. I workout 4 times a week. I guess I am the outdoors type, I like to enter 5K's (probably 10 a year). I love to go kayaking on Armand Bayou wildlife preserve...kind of a good place to clear the mind after a hard work week then coming back and laying around the pool.As far as going out, I haven't been out much, I don't do the clubbing scene (did that in my 20's and that's not what I'm looking to do). Now with that said I do like to find a live band somewhere on the weekend and hangout with friends or find a place with some steaming hot crawfish and wash them down with a cold beer. Sitting on the boardwalk in Kemha doing some people watching and watching the boats troll in and out is pretty relaxing also. I guess I would say that I am a pretty spontaneous kind of guy, I like to have my bags packed on my last day of work just head out towards the hill country with no agenda at all. I just like to drive and stop and sample as many of the BBQ joints along the way and hit some the mom and pop antique shacks along the way. The only thing better would be having that special someone with me and the both of us enjoying each others company. Music.....well, I will have to say that I am a little bit country and a little bit rock-n-roll. Lol I love my old school country and I love my classic rock. I do like a little bit of everything and with a 18 year old daughter I am learning to like some new music. Now I guess this is where I'm suppose to tell what I'm looking for. I think most of us on here are looking for pretty much the same thing. Me....I will have to first say that I am a hopeless romantic and I believe that you should put your lady on a pedestal and pamper her....I still believe in chilvary...opening a door for you, pulling your chair out for you. I want to meet someone that doesn't mind me holding their hand in public or maybe even a kiss.....just because. I am looking for someone that I can build a long lasting relationship with. I want that kind of relationship that when I see her I will get those butterfly feelings in my stomach.....you know, where you hate to leave them in the morning and you can't wait to get home to her in the evenings. Someone to cuddle with on the couch during those stormy rainy days or to watch a movie with.Well, I don't want to make this a novel so I will save the rest for when we meet.
