About Me

Is anyone really good at writing these things? I keep planning on composing something really thoughtful or profound that will leave the reader dying to meet. Alas, the truth is that I'm just a genuine person who is caring, respectful, confident and filled with positive energy and a warm disposition. The guideline advises to talk about hobbies, yourself and what makes you unique and taste in music. So... hobbies are mostly activity related - love biking, swimming, skiing, hiking, exploring. I also enjoy good food & good wine (sometimes a tad too much!). I don't know if this makes me unique, but I'm here to meet someone. I hear these stories about guys wanting to ***, chat, etc for weeks and weeks. That's not me. If we speak or *** times, I want to meet up. For goodness sake, why else would one be on a dating site?!? I love music (perhaps another hobby). I have a 12,***song collection in iTunes - tons of rock, blues & soul. To me, a night out consisting of a good meal with friends and then seeing live music is hard to beat!I'm a person who stays busy with friends, activities and some personal & work related travel. It sure would be nice to meet someone and create the special & secure feeling of having a "connection" in life.I'm plagiarizing from "The Bucket List" but I think a good measure of success and purpose in life is answering yes to "have you had joy in life" and "have you brought joy to others"........on both counts, I'm trying! I think a 1st date is about simply seeing if there's any chance of a match so my idea of a good first date is any place where two people can sit and talk without too many crazy distractions. Now the second date, there's the question!

Looking for: woman. In age: 47-57

I'm an active, 50 year old guy who loves the outdoors, sports of almost any kind. I try to stay physically fit and healthy, I love to cook, I'm told I have a great sense of humor. I recently graduated from a certification program for computers in hopes of bettering my opportunities in these tough economic times. I don't believe that you can't teach an old dog new tricks.lol. I love all kinds of music, though not a fan of Rap, I still respect the Art. I love ALL animals. I have 3 cats. I'm very outgoing. Kind of a Jack of all trades when it comes to working around a house. I consider myself to be a romantic at heart, compassionate, and affectionate. I'm a lover, not a fighter, even though I spent most of my life playing hockey...lol. Also, I probably won't respond unless you have an updated photo in your profile. I like to be able to see the person I'm chatting with. It's only fair, I have mine up. On a first date, I'd have to say I'm the gentleman type. I first like to find out what type of foods she enjoys, whether she prefers wine or a beer with her meal, or even just soda or water. I'm the type that will hold a door open for a lady, and help her push her chair in when she sits. I certainly have no problem with a kiss on the first date. Anything else beyond that has to come through chemistry. I always found that if a conversation comes easy between 2 people, then there is a certain degree of chemistry already there. If there is any sign of difficulty in holding a conversation, I tend to take that as a bad omen. It probably just isn't meant to be. But I also feel it takes more then one date to get to know someone well enough. I don't believe in one-nite stands
